Dead dolphins can't get the loot...
They should have gone back for you, I always do. It’s not too hard since the rez is instant.
I do wonder why you were in a non-accessible place in the first place :p
Nothing is inaccessible in that area.
Just hit 1, 2, 3 and you’re fine. All the Krait, including any you just revealed, will rush the little sea scorpion while you zip by unimpeded. Get near dead person, hit 5. Repeat on the way back.

If at least one person reaches the checkpoint to the boss area, then the party can die so everyone can respawn at the boss checkpoint before killing off the jelly.
Always looking for an adventure :D

This. I usually just run through it solo, have everyone die, and then checkpoint it to save hassle. If 3 or 4 people get through you’ve got three options for the last 1/2 dead folks:
1. Go back for them.
2. Die real fast and checkpoint them up.
3. Be a dick and kill the boss with 3/4, like OP’s group.
Well the first time i did dolphin path i died and my party left me behind, they killed boss and no loot for me.
So yeah some groups are really great but others only care about themselves.

I’ve dropped that little sea scorpion often and it never seems to do anything as the krait continuously drag me under and eventually kill. In fact, I think the runs that I’ve survived on have been the ones where I just swim past and don’t drop that sucker…
I would also like to point out that if one person rushes forward ahead of the group, ignoring party members that are getting dragged down, they end up “clumping” the mob and losing the aggro to the next party member in their radius, thus essentially making it much more difficult for others to progress. Either stick together or go one by one. Was also told by one such person that “dolphin event is not a team event” so it’s “everyone for themselves”.
Lovely. That, and the crystals to survive the Jade Maw’s final breath ><

You should have disconnected – that sounds like one of the worst groups ever! In particular, if it is the 1st and 2nd fractal because if the dungeon is 18+ they will probably struggle finishing it with 4 ppl…
Even the whole team suiciding is a better option than leaving one person behind, just remember to take off your gear!
Also, the dolphin area is not really inaccessible like in the cultist fractal, but Anet should make it that you cannot progress to the boss unless everyone is there for the jellyfish. Alternatively, one person could make it and the rest do as well but that is a lazy way to fix it.
I’ve seen some selfish people rush past others in the dolphin area even though the only reason they could get through was because of the others before them distracting the krait… It is like rushing past a place full of kraits, past a teammate who is getting beaten, and you don’t leave a decoy behind, or rez if needed on the way thru… so much for teamwork! >.>

If one person makes it through, you can reset at the jellyfish boss. I always go back though and rez fallen teammates

You have to be proactive with the decoy. For instance when you’re coming up on the champion at the end dropping the decoy before you get within aggro range, having it draw enemies towards it and then dashing around the other side is a good way to get through.
