This happened to me too. Was in a Fractal run, had to endure this group for 2 hours because they just died all the time. I tried to help them honestly, telling them how they can avoid dieing 10x on the Asura Fractal against the harpyes.

Then at the boss Fractal when the boss had 10% hp I got kicked out.

This is absolute disgusting behaviour. In 15 years of mmo’s this is the first time I have seen this behaviour. I don’t know if communities in general simply are getting worse and worse or if its just this new generation that seems to lack social behaviour by a big part.

Yeah never seen that happen either. Even in WoW and ToR never seen or heard that happen. Sure in WoW sometimes people get kicked but it is more about them being afk, pulling for no reason, qued as a tank but in dps gear, things like that. But to kick someone as the boss is about to die is ridiculous and to hear this happens to a lot of people says a lot about this game. WoW at least implements a no kick while in combat. ANet should at least use that as a start.

Totally agree. It’s the first mmo i ever seen with this kind of junk community.
We are asking to Anet from launch a solution, completely ignored. As expected.
When is not so hard to just:
A remove kick from the game
B allow kick just with 4 votes, and a written justification, who will appear on every player’s screen, and who promoted it. When 4 votes are up, the 5th player will be kicked after 30 seconds. So he has time to take a picture, report the abusing team, clean this game of this kind of trashy players.

Anet position on this issue? Write a report. Ye, ye. Except if you smartly didn’t took a picture of the team, how are we supposed to remember names, considering when kicked the party char is wiped (and not everyone talks)? Such a game huh.

We too readily chalk it up to human nature and fail to see that aspects of game culture can be influenced by game design. Consider another element of game design where it’s easy to see like competitive vs. non-competitive resource nodes or quests. WoW and GW2 create a very different feeling around seeing other players on the map. In one game you are happy to see other players, in the other your own faction members can be your worst enemies. I’ll leave it to you to discern the elements introduced in GW2 that could be contributing to bad behavior in dungeons.

There are none, because everyone gets the same amount of loot, regardless of whose there.

There is ZERO reason to kick someone at the end, there is nothing brought on by how GW2 dungeons work to promote that behavior. The only reason for someone to kick someone is because they are simply being mean and nasty.

You are clearly trying to make a underhanded jab regarding the new content at Anet.
" I’ll leave it to you to discern the elements introduced in GW2 that could be contributing to bad behavior in dungeons."

ONLY reason to kick someone at the end is to deprive them of loot. I mean, let me tell you what happened yesterday on an AC run (positive story so keep reading). I joined a PuG and the leader wanted to kill Kholer. We did with some difficulty but we had just looted his body and not gotten to the chest when the entire group was kicked out. Leader (who died most often in the fight with Kholer), it seems, had just up and left the group and since he was the instance owner – we got kicked out. I (on my then level 79 ranger), a level 40 something thief and a level 80 engineer decided to stay but the other level 80 warrior decided to drop out. We filled the two spots with a level 36 mesmer and a level 63 engineer and went again. This time doing Path 2 while before we were going to do Path 1. Killed Kohler again, joking about how we didn’t need tanks.

We got to the bit where most PuGs run to the boss but we couldn’t run cause the thief kept dying and the mesmer, who was already pant less (armour broke) who was trying to help him also started to die. So we went back and cleared. Got to the boss, pulled and killed adds. Just as we were about to engage the boss, the level 63 engineer D/Ced :/ BUT we waited for her. Waited like 5+ minutes for her. We could have 4-manned the boss (even sub-80s can 4 man that boss), kicked and looked for another. But we waited because we didn’t want her to miss out on tokens.

This is the thing, if you genuinely like your team mates, you’ll go out of your way to make sure they don’t miss out on tokens. But if you dislike them and you have that kind of a personality, you will kick to meet out some sort of punishment to them by making them miss tokens. Others of course do it if they are jerks <— happens when you are the lone pick-up on a guild group or something. Don’t get me wrong, kick them early if you don’t like them but if they and you stick with each other until the end, let them have their tokens and then block them. But when I hear stories like this and think about what I have myself seen in the GW 2 community (a lot of tolerance for the most part) I always think we aren’t getting the whole story because most GW 2 players are VERY understanding and supportive.

My brain is shagging under the weight of changes… having six characters was not a good idea!

I’m all for punishing trolls but not allowing to kick people, even before the end of the instance is not a good solution. If someone deserves to be kicked, he should be kicked last boss or not. I am a very patient man and I do my best not to kick people.

Let me tell you what happened to me recently. We were on fractals lvl 10. We had a guy trolling all the run. He was offensive on several occasions to party members just because he messed up and died several times. He was saying how he had reached lvl 20 and we had no idea what we were doing. The problem was, he was the one messing up all the time. The party went ahead and ignored him just because if we kicked him, we couldn’t get a replacement.

Then we reach Jade maw. Opposite to the party wishes that wanted to clear the mobs, he went ahead and rushed forward, forcing us to follow. Then 1 guys failed a jump and died. When we asked him to die also so we can ress he refused. We were again, forced to follow his wishes. The rest of us reach the boss and start fighting. Then he TYPES /SLEEP and just stays there!!! Needless to say, he was kicked faster than i could blink.

So not allowing to kick at later stages is a horrible idea, opening more trolling possibilities.

Forcing 4 votes may also result in 2 friends not wanting to kick each other.

Adding more report features would be helpful and maybe a written justification of the kick also to punish the real trolls. But from my experience, most kicks are justified.

Didn’t you say “He (one guy) was a troll”? He got a buddy too to save him? I doubt. If happens, you attempting the kick take a picture of who save him ( votes window pops), report both behaviour, both are banned after a ticket report explaining all. Kick out the trash from this game, not from your group

I was referring to more possibilities where 2 people are friends(not the specific incident), which happens quite often. And why should 3 people’s run be ruined for 2? Reporting the players doesn’t save the particular run.Doesn’t seem fair.

I do agree though that kicking from a 5 member party should require the majority to agree(3 people) instead of just 2 and 2 from a 4 member party.

Luckily this has not happened to me, but your best bet is to be the one to start the dungeon. So if you get kicked, everyone else gets kicked out of that instance too. This will make them think twice before kicking you.
