So what is the point of running dungeons now that ascended armor is introduced? Shouldn’t we be able to get the latest tier armor/weapon from running dungeons?

If doing 30 runs of Arah gets me an exotic set when other people with gold have ascended set (crafted), then why would I ever enter a dungeon?

The dungeon gear should be updated to ascended to keep in par with the highest tier armor in game.

It could cost triple the amount of tokens or whatever but it should be obtainable from running dungeons.

But then we wouldn’t have to farm and farm and farm and farm and farm and farm and farm and farm! Think of the children!

yea those 1000g for armor + power infusions are totally worth time and money!

What is the point? The same as ever: to have fun.

If you don’t find them fun, complain to Arena Net about that (and explain why), don’t “excuse” the lack of good gameplay in exchange for some item with slightly shinier stats. One thing doesn’t make up for the other, and players need to make that clear (to any publisher).

I’m guessing some people might just kit their alts in ascended without needing exotics but 98% of characters will still need a set of exotic armor at some stage. Stepping up from rare gear to full ascended isn’t exactly easy.

I agree with Zylonite.5913 ( It could cost triple the amount of tokens ). No way im gona sit at forge to level to 500. I would rather play and have fun and at the same time work for full set of ascended.

Because dungeons also give you gold. Especially Arah. And most dungeon runners don’t run it for the tokens.

That said, I do agree with your point. Ascended armor pieces (or their components) could have required 1k tokens and it would still keep dungeons a relatively quick way to get the top tire stats.

Actually being able to trade dungeon tokens or fractal relics for dragonite ore sounds like a nice idea. Would also solve the problem of the dungeon crowd having to do open world events.

Not sure about the proper conversion rate though.

Why run dungeon?

1) Because i will only craft 1 ascended armor, maybe 2 in the really really long run. Frr all my other character need exotic armor.
2) For Gold. Its a really nice way to make gold. Especially if you do it with some friend and speed run through it.
3) I want some piece of dungeon armor because of their looks.
4) You may want a gift of a dungeon for a legendary
5) You may want to get CoF, HotW and CoE token to buy rare gear and salvage them for ectos
6) You may want to have fun.
7) You may want to do each path at least once, or help guildmate/friend to complete each path at least once.
