FotM dailies, ruining the experience?
Why don’t you just join a good pve guild and stop whining about it? Yes randoms suck in fractals because they don’t understand the content, but what do you expect from something which sometimes requires coordination to complete alongside 1 hit mechanics. I don’t think that people should have to state they are new, put up an LFG asking for gear ping zerker melee exp or something along those lines and kick them if they don’t meet the lfg requirements.
Don’t get me started on the kitten-kitten knobs that leave the FotM once they get their daily chest. If you’re going to do a FotM daily, at least make them finish the freaking run before they just dash off.
How do they get their daily fractal chest without ending the run? Are you not talking about the daily end boss fractal chest?
Since the update one of the possible daily achievements is finishing a single fractal.
It’s pretty stupid. You’re not supposed to do just one fractal.

You only need to complete a single fractal to finish the fractal daily, not the daily chest bonus you receive after finishing 3-4 paths. So people get the chest and leave after the first fractal. Well more appropriately, people get CARRIED, get the chest, then leave.

Fractal daily was always a single fractal.
Not sure how not having to carry the three stooges on the most painful run ever is a bad thing though.
I actually have quite the opposite experience. I feel the fractal dailies have brought many experienced fractal players (who didn’t do them because the rewards used to suck) back. Of course, it still takes a few tries before you find a decent party, but atleast there now are some. There used to be none, especially at low levels.
I think fractals can be a bit daunting for new people so I think incentivizing people to try different content is exactly the plan Anet has. I actually think it will be good to get more people exposed to fractals and then hopefully invested in them regularly. The more the broader community runs dungeons and fractals the more likely we are to see more content added in these spaces in the future. Doesn’t solve the OP’s problem, but a well worded LFG and some measurable criteria (some level of AR perhaps) could help there.
If the daily is to do any fractal level, i think that’s when you get the daily reward after just the first part. If it’s a 10-19 daily for example, you need to finish the entire thing to get the daily reward. That’s been my experience.
Trying to pug a daily 50 yesterday was just painful, after the first shard I realized that Fractal was one of the dailies and it all made sense.
I was one of 3 Warriors. A guildie of mine was on his Ele. Our fifth was a Ranger. I swapped to Guard after a wipe at Bloomhunger. I forgot that was possible.
2nd shard was uncategorized. This is when I noticed that the Ranger was using a Bear. And a longbow. I asked if they could use spotter and they replied no. One of the Warriors was complaining that this wasn’t as good as PvP. Since I swapped from my Warrior no one was dropping Banners. Both of them died many, many times while jumping. We almost wiped at Old Tom. I began craving hard liquor. Somehow, the Bearbow fell off the side at the boss. You know, the side you don’t go anywhere near because the boss might reset? The side you avoid because you need to stack up and murder the Golems? Yeah. The Ranger somehow ran all the way off the side.
I hoped third shard was Grawl so those two would quit. We got Thaumanova. Went smoothly except for the ooze fight since if one person with a rapid shot doesn’t read a buff bar the team wipes.
Last boss was Molten, thankfully. Tried melee, 2 people couldn’t jump the waves. I ended up soloing zerker down the last 50%. 2 people managed to die to the firestorm after reviving anyways.
We all got rings. One was uninfused.
I am never pugging Fractals if it’s the daily again.
Could always introduce a dishonor system for LFG
If you leave a group before the dungeon/fractal is completed you are punished
Same exact formula as the pvp one

I don’t think that’s necessary, especially with the loss of instance ownership and the ease of replenishing lost members.
I also don’t think one should be punished for the possibility of joining a group that was not as advertised or contained other baggage that a player wanted to get away from. These things will just drive people away from LFG.
PS: I think I just finished some low level fractal with you just now
#yolopugswag woo!
@ OP: make your own group so you can run your desired filters. Run the highest possible level (10, 20, 30, etc) as it requires a higher tier of AR. Ask players to ping that amount of AR (i.e., “LFM Daily 20 Please Ping 25AR”)
Asking anyone to ping anything deters most of the people you’re talking about, and the rest won’t have that much AR to ping anyways.
to be faceroll at the high levels, because it
needs to be accessible to the casuals and bads.

All the fractal dailies that require the completion of all 4 stages are for low level fractals meant for newer or less experienced players. Honestly what did you expect by pugging those levels? “Pros”? I don’t mean to sound harsh, but instead of complaining and whining about “noobs” in levels meant for less experienced players, why don’t you either A) do a guild/friends list run or B ) offer to teach some of these less experienced players about fractal mechanics? You were, we all were “noobs” at some point in time. If you can’t tolerate people that don’t have good or complete knowledge about combat and fight mechanics, then don’t pug.

WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA! Wow, never heard of such genius before. You say join a good pve guild? This has never crossed anyone’s mind before, thank you for this amazing idea.
50/50 GWAMM x3
I quit how I want

Bro, it’s rapid fire. If you’re gonna take the kitten out of rangers, please get the names of skills right.

They have a new Fractal daily that requires you to finish the 1-9 scale end boss fractal… I’ve done it with guildies.
This is when I noticed that the Ranger was using a Bear. And a longbow.
I don’t see the problem with this. I use a lynx for the might stack and if I’m being attacked quite heavily, I use the bear to take the aggro until I can use my lynx again.
The biggest problem with FoTM is the fact that you have to complete 3 or 4 paths in one go to raise up a level. Adding a daily that only requires completion of one path just adds to the problems. Frankly the chances of me completing four paths in a row is slim to none, and I’m sure many others have the same issue. Maybe if it rewarded progress for each completed path I’d take more interest, which would make it accessable to a lot more players.
It also has some of the worst, cheesy mechanics seen in any game (jump puzzles, one shot kill mechanics, etc), which is why it’s so unpopular.
I’ve had no problems with this, or very few. I don’t know where people keep running into these jerkwad players >>

Hell, I ask for a Bear in the Old Tom fight, helps sponge the projectiles. The problem is when they don’t ever switch, actively avoid stacking with the team and refuse to teamplay with traits like spotter. Or fail to notice that we’re whittling down defiant stacks to Ice Bow 5 a boss for a burn and just knockback every time it’s off cooldown. Or even simply fail to use healing spring.
I like having a good Ranger on my team. Having one on the team that’s actively making the run take longer than needed is a pain.
