I was playing my daily fotm with my thief and tried to use smoke screen against Old tom poison dart stuff. Some time ago I was able to block those projectiles but this time I wasn’t able to block and died because of it. Is this a bug/update?

They were made to go through smoke screen and SoA several patches ago

Yah no reflects work on him. I guess you will just have to use the absorbing power of your body to melee him.

Make skills special to reflect projectiles @ made them not reflect, anet logic.

Lol. In all fairness, it was way too easy (still is) but WAY too easy if you can reflect those. Now they just need to put a pool of poison/lava right where he stands.

You can still reflect the one-shot lightning bolt though

Thanks for the save:D

My team usually hides behind melee pets and summons, so that they soak up most, if not all, of the damage. It’s just long enough for us to DPS Old Tom down before the fan runs out.

mossmans axe is blockable/reflectable… so deflectable too

@OP it was changed along with the treb shot patch (treb shots are unblockable/reflectable too; but they used to be deflectable -swirling winds)

one of the fights i absolutely love protection for (swapping out empowering might for writ of persistance and using hammer at max melee range)

I always laugh when I instantly melt on scale 70+ when being on bit wrong location. But that’s why we play the games, for fun!

Last night we did mossman and I absorbed his axe with mimic. I kept it after swamp and we went to cliffside. We got up to the 4 champ room, and I targeted the ettin after the bunny when down. The ettin and shaman were standing right next to each other.

I thought perfect! Double checked to make sure I had the ettin targeted. Stared the ugly thing right in the face, hit my echo skill, Tossed that gleaming axe, swirling in the air.

It went to the left of ettin (he still never moved) and into the wall, completely missing everything.

I cried.

+1, works and also has for months, mossmans axes are ground targete though, so you really need to make sure nothing is in the way and the Target is completely immobile

Bear is great for body blocking Old Tom’s projectiles. You need the troll and signet of the wild to make it work for a long time. That’s the only type of fight I use a bear in right now.

Okay thanks, I’ll keep trying it then. I’m really baffled by what went wrong.

I was mainly just asking to see if I should keep making the effort to get it to work, or just quit wasting time.

I have gotten the spot once. maybe fotm 12/14?

I usually call dibs on a crystal, dust off the shiney greatsword, and drop TW while I beam tom slowly…. very…. very slowly to death.
