GW2 Dungeon and its MMO LFG Curse.
And you listen to those typical players who brags about their ability to solo a dungeon?
Personally I think, this is not a game to be ‘solo-ed’, and like most typical MMO, it’s meant to be ‘teamworked’. And that’s the fun aspect of an MMO.
GW2 has given up it’s GW1 roots, and theres people who likes it, people who can accept it and carry on, and people who outright hates it.
But well, gotta move on with life.
Then don’t make finding party such a pain. And don’t make some dungeons near impossible. That’s just grief players
Maybe add Matching System like League of Legend or DC Online. This game already took out the holy “Trinity Requirement” of instance, it almost there. We no longer need the stupid “LGF Tank, LFG Healer”

I doubt a the ones who want a matchmaker realize what that does to the game.
That will knock out a huge part of socializing from a mmo, wich i built around socializing. Why else would you want to play it. If you want to do the obscure dungeons, you will have a much better time if you find friends, get a large guild, or severall, you can do that now.
That lfg spam might be annoying but you have the option to turn it off if your not interested in it. But it still brings people together.
What else would get people to talk ingame? With a dungeon finder, all people would do would be log in, run a few dungeon finder games with random people each time, possibly not even talking during it, then going for some instanced pvp that they can join with 2 clicks, again no talking, then run with the zerg in WvW. Mmos are supposed to be social games, so go out and be social, the more friends and guildies you have the higher chances you can make a party.
You missing the point here, the LFG spam is not the problem, the problem is what cause that LFG spam, the problem is, there are players who need group for dungeon but could not find one. That is the problem.
How would matchmaker reduce the socializing of the game? in fact, it even makes it easier to find friend if you think about it. You join a queue for dungeon/match like in League of Legend, the next you know, your team invite you to be their friends.
But more important, what it solves is this:
You will always be able to find group that that want to run the same dungeon that you do at that same time.
For example: if you want to run AC, why stand in Lion Arch spam the map chat or guild chat with no hope anyone would answer. Why not just sign up queue for AC and let the system do the rest. Whoever you run AC might even invite you for friend, or into new guild.
Grat, want a AC run? problem solve
Want socialize? not a problem.
Rather than,
“you want to run AC, but everyone in your guild, your friends, and Lion Arch want FOTM = no AC for you”

they should just add abit better lfg implamentation then an icon above your head maybe lfg ( which dungon s/e) which people in the map your in can see in a popup when they enter it?
anothe way would be add a new chat colour you could turn off in your main chat if really not upfor dungons …a seperate chat window for when you wanna quick check whats going on… or have both if you want to see (keep tabs on activitys) with the constant if you miss the anouncement that way the lfg spam would be not forced upon you in /map but /lfg

100% agree with you on this. I love the socialization and I love the community of this game. I find it to be a lot of fun to find a random group and realize one of the other random people who joined is a guy I played with last night. The LFG tool that WoW had made it so that we were all grouped and playing together, but it was more like Xbox live than an MMO. The good groups were the ones where no one talked and we just played through the dungeon like the other guys in the party were just NPCs. The bad groups were downright hostile to each other. The community is what actually drove me from that game.

hahahah im sorry but spamming LFG HoTW in LA for example is not a social aspect of the game. its a hassle. and its also a hassle that will get your chat spamming suppressed. There is absolutely no social or remotely fun aspect of spamming LFG in chat for half hour and getting 1 reply out of it. What am i doing exactly? interviewing someone for a position in my group? I spam LFG and someone writes back “inv”. WHOOOA the social aspect there is mind blowing. a LFG tool cuts the garbage part out of looking for people and pairs you up with someone. so what 4 other people didnt message me the word “inv” before we started. i wont lose sleep over it. and ill definitely enjoy the experience more knowing that i have an extra half hour of my day that i dont have to waste sitting in LA spamming the chat. Sorry but the “social” argument of spamming chat to LFG is ridiculous

Then don’t make finding party such a pain. And don’t make some dungeons near impossible. That’s just grief players
First of all:
Assuming you dodge and don’t run a glasscannon setup, all dungeons are straightforward and easy. Many are boring due to easy but endlessly-long bossfights, yes. None are difficult in the slightest.
Second:
It’s not difficult to find a party. Go to LA, /m, got a party within 10 minutes. Works every single time so far, independent of where I want to go.

the difficulty is not an issue for me but i will comment on finding a party. With fractals now its very challenging for people to find a group for their specific difficulty. Your not just looking for a fractals group which would be easy to find. your looking for a fractals 1 or fractals 2 or fractals 3 group etc etc. The amount of people per specific difficulty is a lot lower than the population just doing fractals in general so its an extreme pain right now to find people. this new dungeon also takes away from the player base of the old dungeons and its taking slightly longer to find groups for those dungeons as well
I like the team aspect of GW2, but it’s conflicting to see AreaNet give you a team required content, but by no means do they provide you a good networking tool to get a fast/high-quality group together. Come on AreaNet, where you at with a LFG tool?

completely agreed. not only my problem or your problem. thousands upon thousands of players problems

You mean like when there 3 Elites that can area knock down, area poison, and possible area root? (exclude the boss hit like a truck) sure, dodge always solve those problem right? especially assuming you can spam dodge none-stop >_> since there is no such thing as endurance correct?
In addition, the dungeon “recommend” level is inaccurate. For example: Try to do AC exp with a group of level 35. No not 80, 35+, i dare ya, if you don’t mind the repair bill, assume your level 35 group can finish AC exp.
Second:
It’s not difficult to find a party. Go to LA, /m, got a party within 10 minutes. Works every single time so far, independent of where I want to go.
Hard to believe, finding party for mid-dungeon like SE exp or TA exp is nearly impossible. But hey! i see lots of LFM AC and LFM Fractal spam…..there you go, that is the problem. People, your guild, your friends, only do dungeons that are popular. You know what we call this problem?
“skipping contents”

Why does this even come up anymore? You can’t expect everyone, or even most people to be in THAT active of a guild, and most don’t consider begging for a group for hours fun either.
I know for a fact there are dozens of people, almost certainly more somewhere in my server or in others that want to do the same dungeon as me, but sadly there is no easy mechanic to group us up to experience the content.
If you want to socialize and run with your guild, lfg doesn’t stop you from doing that.
