I chose sylvari over my human and asura just because I feel like I really ought to level one.

I will never get the fascination with charcoal sylvari, or burnt twigs as I tend to call them if I’m in a slightly meaner mood.
For me a plant has to be colourful, vibrant. Otherwise its a dead plant.

And before someone piles in with “but it’s a necromancer”. Well commonly the necromancer herself isnt dead/undead, just a practitioner of magic involving the dead/undead. There are cases where they count among the undead themselves, but at least not in guild wars, as far as I know. (Could be wrong about that, admittedly.)

Edit: To clarify: I’m not saying that the designs don’t look nice or interesting. But they just rub me the wrong way.

Some people pick charcoal for their Sylvaris when they want to use a cultural armor. If you pick a color, the cultural armor will take over a bit of your Sylvari’s color, making dyeing it a bit more difficult at times and/or leaving trails of your Sylvari’s color on the armor iirc. Not sure if this applies for TA-armor too.

Otherwise… It makes for some interesting looks imo, I have a charcoal warrior with abyss/redemption armor and yellow skin glow which doesn’t look too bad, at least for me. :P

Trust me I know all about the perils of trying to get dyes to work on sylvari cultural armor. sigh
My particular flower is green, with light pink petals (armor). I tried for I don’t know how long to get red hues to work for the armor but eventually gave up.

I just wanted to have a deep contrast for the hair flowers and the body. Also her glow is bright yellow. The other colors just wouldn’t go well with the hot pink hair flowers which I really wanted

PSA: NEcromancer can in fact get Brie down to 50 percent in a reasonable amount of time. Even without might.

It’s not about having disposable income or not imo, instead it’s about ANets focus and them neglecting parts of the game, not fixing important bugs which are in this game since release (I’m glad they fixed the Asura-PvP-Problem, but the messed up AoE-Indicators still remain for example). Even though I have to say that the LS is getting better and Dry Top is a wonderful map, they have to fix mistakes they made before I can see myself supporting ANet with real munies again.

I love your cactus.

As I said I really like the dark bark because it makes me able to use excessively bright hair flowers and armors without clashing with the Sylvari main color. That’s always been my main hang up on Sylvari, I hated how nothing stood out. With the new hair colors (I’m using dark peach) and some vibrant dyes you get a really lovely contrast you wouldn’t get if she was light blue or whatever

Yeah but northerners have a dry cold, none of that humid stuff floridians have to deal with. 57 and 45 degrees up north feels like the low 70s and mid 60s down south. I was in 19 degree weather one year in Montana and it felt as if it was in the 50s-60s from Florida.
