Under optimal conditions (which I would assume Nike considered) precision sigil wins.
For quick reference:
power > 2100/(crit_dmg+0,5) + precision – 822
If above is correct, invest in precision.

I recently did a numbers crunch on mesmer DPS and something like 10/30/0/0/30 with pistol and sword gives outrageously high DPS numbers. Something in the range of 14k fully buffed with 3 phantasms up, whereas guardians and warriors get around 10k.

Mesmers are the new DPS meta, maybe. Probably not though cause phantasms still die all the time.

One thing I don’t get here, is if you went and used 3 fully buffed phantasms, wouldn’t it have make more sense to stick 25 in inspiration for 15%+ phantasm damage?

If you want 30 in Dueling for the extra stats, you have 40 points left over. That means you either take 25 in Inspiration or 20 in Illusions (for Compounding and PHaste) but not both. Swordsman may give slightly closer numbers in a 10/30/0/30/0 build versus 10/30/0/0/30 due to not relying on PHaste but it’s not going to be drastically more or less.

The other option is to run 0/20/0/25/25, which is what I normally run. It’s not the highest theoretical DPS you are going to get, though.

And yeah, Duelist is more once you add in bleeds. One duelist barrage is practically a guaranteed 8 bleeds when you have everything stacked up. It’s not a huge difference but based on my damage estimates it is slightly more than Swordsman and less likely to die due to attacking at range. You really can swap out Swordsman if you want but you won’t see a significant difference between the two assuming all stay up 100%. If phantasms are dying, Duelist is better due to having higher burst on their initial unload than Swordsmen do.
