Hey guys. The blood magic changes made me wanna try soloing dungeons with Necromancer. I started off slowly, with CM story. It went pretty smoothly, you can pretty much facetank all the mobs with a bit of good positioning.

By the way, it’s pretty darn ridiculous that Thieves can facetank everything with a single trait, on top of their insane Pistol Whip spam.
Necromancers have a dedicated trait line on siphoning and they still lose to Thieves, who also outshine them in everything else.

Have any of you tried any soloing with Necromancer? Any thoughts?
I’m assuming the main problem is their complete lack of skipping capabilities, but I hope they’re at least doing okay in the battle department.

Main issue was self buffing. Thats not so much an issue anymore. The other one is a major lack of active defence. Having no reflects or projectile blocks is a pain in the kitten for some dungeons. And lupi is basically anti necro since the bugged auto-attack.

For solos skipping isnt an issue. Most people use consumables anyway.

Basically what Spoj said. No blocks, no additional evades and no reflects = extremely painful soloing. Every class has access to them except necro -.-

necro is good at soloing content, but without blocks or reflects you are going to have to learn how to do 2 things, and do them well.

manage your extra health pool
use fear correctly to time interrupts and force favorable positioning.

I’d actually recommend a more condi focused build for soloing, since you are alone anyway you can go for the slower burn in fights. you won’t break any speed clear records, but you’ll have an easier time with more overall pressure than trying to face tank through content on a necromancer.

no, necro isn’t good at soloing content, it’s the worst. the fact that you can solo content with it doesn’t mean that it’s good at doing it.

for example, I can braid my hair on my own, but it will take a lot more time and won’t be as precise – that doesn’t make me good at braiding my own hair. and there are people who are able to do it easily – they are the good ones.

have you ever seen a full zerk life stealing necro take down an elite while downed? cause I have. sure, the elite was softened up a bit… it still had 25% health left.

Yeah downed state soloing. The most effective necro solo.

Too bad they nerfed downstate damage by 25%.

I was doing hotw recently and noticed I can fully revive in downstate underwater just by having blood magic and spamming 2+1 xD

Hm now that I think about it, I don’t remember if any allied necro gave me Last Rites
