Yeah EU4 is like the more mature Civ
(and the latest DLC is super nice, I gave them my money in a heartbeat)

As for Anet’s communication, just look at reddit now: people are saying that it is very nice to read posts from Anet, even when they are just being cheeky (“All mysteries will be resolved in HoT”). I think it is perfectly normal for a customer who actually appreciates gaming that the company providing the game makes them feel not just like cash cows.

Personally I saw ~10 players running into a huge fractal like portal with the subtext “Adventure together” and my eyes lit up as I was sure this would be their implementation of guild raids. Then my head hit the desk as I realized that it’s just a glorified waypoint system for guild missions.

That is the exact same reaction I had. When I saw that, I literally did the Chris Pratt excited face. Then this week when I read about what it really is, I was heartbroken.

We can go on guild hall claiming raids! Keep deleting and recreating guilds for epic dungeon experience. :>

It was a dungeon with mordrem and some techy stuff like scarlet, don’t remember anything else because it wasn’t released yet. There was like an announcement on their site with a big flashy button and pictures..
In the haze between dream and reality, I thought it was actually true for a while. Gah.
