Exactly. I can use warr sword 5 on Lupi’s AoEs, but not Malrona’s. It’s pretty messed up.

I agree with you all on Malrona and hate how they took the lazy way out and implemented such a poorly-thought out “fix.”

The same logic behind your complaints about Malrona I apply to my reasoning for being so bitter about Strength runes being nerfed.

They obviously needed to be toned down but since ArenaNet likes to spend more time offing themselves than coming up with decent solutions to problems, all they did was lower the damage. That’s like, all they do. Nerf damage.

What they could have done was add a tradeoff to the damage increase like Scholar’s (which is an awesome one). Something along the lines of:

3% damage increase for 1-10 stacks of might, 5% damage increase for 11-20 stacks of might, and 7% damage increase for 21-25 stacks of might.

It would have been perfect, as it’d ensure that only those in PvP who are good at maintaining high stacks of might at all times can reap the full benefits of them which is most of the time not the case, which would have toned them down to the point where they wouldn’t be insanely OP with everyone and their mother using them.

Afterall, the change only happened because of PvP. It’s bullcrap for people in PvE to get the backlash of ArenaNet’s wrath on their PvP balancing attempts.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Lupicus’s projectiles magically became unblockable one day, nor would I be if they decided to make it so that you can’t toggle off melee assist in general options to prevent people from controlling the position of mobs/bosses to optimize DPS.

It’s things like this that serve as a fresh reminder that employees come and go, and that while there are obviously some people that are passionate about their jobs and genuinely try to excel in what they do, there are a lot who don’t care about anything other than what their wage is and will do the bare minimum just to get it.
