No More Instance Owner!
3/5 at alphrad. Two join kick everyone else, invite guildies.
Tbh, I don’t think it’s gonna be much of a change for sellers. People selling atm are exposed to the same danger if they don’t have enough fillers. You could argue that there’s gonna be more incentive for griefers to sell the path they take over, but they are gonna experience the same in return.
wot
Currently: seller gets booted -> instance shuts down = Griefing not encouraged
Improved version by Anet: seller gets booted -> instance does not shut down -> griefers finish dungeon -> griefers has to sell -> griefer can be booted.
FTFY.

Well…. at least my glass is half full
But what if griefer doesn’t sell and just takes the end reward >_>
But what if griefer doesn’t sell and just takes the end reward >_>
Then he gets 3 gold in 5 minutes. Imo that’s not too bad.

So there is that incentive. And also, many griefers already don’t care for money they do it because they can. Makes them feel good or whatever. So these changes imo will just make it easier for them.

They would have to get to the last boss and kill it. I’ll take Arah as an example. P1, the Jotun boss – you need to get there first and then survive the encounter. As easy as that sounds, I already had 4 griefers “taking over” my instance and trying to do that for an hour, failing over and over again (it ended up with them inviting a thief friend to help at the skip and they still died there repedeately before they made it to the last boss where they wiped once again). In P2, you have to solo the last boss which requires very specific knowledge about the encounter. Same in P3, to a lesser extent and also in P4.
The gold that you mentioned would give them an incentive. But that’s only one side of the coin. Would the plain possibility of getting a path reward give griefers more incentive? That’s the (valid) question here.

Like I said, no system will ever be perfect, but the vast majority of people don’t solo or sell paths. For all those people, this change is a really really good one.
Speak for yourself, I’m a freaking casual with dungeons and this will reduce my will to ever run them with random people to zero. I can no longer protect my friends or myself. This is change is a really bad one.
Guess we’re playing two different games because i was under the impression that leaders could be kicked anyway. You just don’t want people to profit when they kick you. If they want to kick you, they’ve always been able to don’t make BS up about being immune to it right now.
imo it’s pretty obvious that the real issue is the 2 person kick system. Losing 1 person in a dungeon is common, losing 2 is rare, and losing 3 is almost unheard of. if it required 3 people to kick, this would mostly stop people from clearing parties unless there were 3 open slots or 2 with one guildie already inside.
Seems to me people are jumping to crazy conclusions based on nothing. only ones who should be slightly more worried about this are sellers and theres not many of them.

I don’t care the slightest of the profit – what I care about is people joining my group, kick my friend or some other poor player to make room for their guildie/whoever at the end. With this system I am able to tell them to invite the guy back in or else I’ll disband the instance. It has worked every time. I feel pretty immune.
With your bad new system you will be removing this from my hands and give the kickers total power, to even get rid of me.
Shame on you for trying to help bad players and making this community take steps backwards

Your problem being..?
I just spent about an hour on a level 11 fractal with a pretty inexperienced group. We got to stage 4, which ended up being the Molten Boss Fractal and wiped several times before having a member rage quit. We posted on the lfg to fill the gap, only to find out another member went AFK. We waited for him to come back, and when he did not we kicked him. Turns out he opened the instance and we were all kicked out, so needless to say I’m done running fractals for the night. I honestly can’t understand how someone can prefer this system to the new ‘leaderless’ instancing.

/shrug, because some people open dungeons to prevent issues with random kicking that is quite prevalent in this game. Those people don’t pull bullkitten like randomly afking, so the situation you describe has never been an issue with them? Just a thought.
- What happens if you solo and experience a short DC? What happens if your entire party sees a short DC?
Don’t quote me on this, but I think that going to stay the same. I’m not sure why the new change would affect it.
Well… “If everyone leaves an instance, it will close, but you don’t have to worry about one person leaving your party and having to restart your dungeon!”

RIP soloing with Time Warner Cable.
Aren’t they gonna get bought by Comcast or whatever anyway? Just heard that, I have no clue if that’s even remotely true.
Oh for the love of… seriously?!
RIP INTERNET!
Please, Google. Please expand to the midwest. Need. Google Fiber. Now. You may be morons with youtube and twitch, but you are the only ISP available in the US that isn’t satanic!
comcast’s internet is pretty good, its thier service thats kittenty
I think some changes that could help alleviate kick-griefing are:
- Anet needs to step up and consistently ban people for doing this
- When a player tries to join/merge from LFG, the existing party must confirm, don’t automatically put them in the party.
- Use the blocked players list to allow users to prevent griefers from joining any future party the user creates.
