I was under the impression that we could run each dungeon path on each character once a day (as long as noticing DR) before losing bonus tokens?

Is this no longer the case?

Today I ran CoE p123 on my guardian and then switched to my ranger to run p1 and she only got 20 tokens (not even 30, which would be DR). I proceeded to run p2 just to make sure, and sure enough I only got 20 tokens again and no bonus ‘chest’.

It would appear that bonus tokens are account-bound now, instead of character-bound.

PS: I haven’t played in over 6 months.

Yes, this was changed a couple of months ago.

You can get the bonus chest with 40 tokens + 1 to 3 gold only once per day per account. The 20 tokens + 26 silver + exp and empyreal fragments you can get as many times as you want, but DR will kick in if you complete the same path too many times in a row (it resets in about 30 minutes I think).

Back when paths were soulbound, bonus tokens didn’t exist.

Pretty sure 20 tokens was the standard DR back then too.

Actually I remember running AC on my guardian three times a day and getting 60 each run (with the bonus.)
