Yes this happened to us the other night in AC. We killed the last boss, guy ran over and got chest and then left so it kicked everyone out and then the kittenbag logged out so when I went to talk to him about it he was offline. Fix this kitten now!

The only chest near the end of AC is the one you get for completing the event before Ghost Eater. You can get that chest before even interacting with the last boss. If you did path 2 and didn’t get that chest earlier, it’s not really the party leader’s responsibility to make sure everyone has it before he leaves the group. People have other things to do.

He shouldn’t be “leader” then.

He’s not the “leader,” he’s usually the first one in with story mode that got tired of waiting on people standing in Lion’s Arch. He’s the instance creator and his position is not one of authority.

The AoE loot opens chests? Here I’ve been walking up to them…

yes they work on chests.

Easiest way to fix this problem is to give a 5 minute timer once the leader leaves the party, so the instance stays open for that amount of time.

I always try to make sure I’m the leader, just because it gives me such disproportionate power, which I don’t use except as a shield against such stupidity (and guild kicks for example).

Of course, after any dungeon I say my thanks, wait for good loot pings to say gratz and only then I leqave.

AoE loot does not open reward chests… I’m onto you Zara.

I’m guessing not, I turned on ‘AoE loot’ and all that jazz when they brought it out. It works, but mashing F near those gold reward chests does nothing. I dunno man.

stupid question but maybe you already looted the chest when you looted the boss’s corpse?

A very simple fix is to add the “ready” prompt from Fractals to the end of a normal dungeon path.

What I don’t get is the fact that ANet chose to implement that ridiculously asking-for-people-to-grief mechanics. I mean, seriously ANet? You’re going to kick everyone out for the sole reason of the party leader is a HUGE RICHARD?

Haha I tried it the other day. Mashed F just out of actual opening range of the chest, collected all the boss loot, mashed F some more for good measure. Went right up to the big chest and pushed F, opened up and gave me lots of shinies. Anyways it’s no biggy, think I’ve side-tracked from the OP’s topic just a bit xD
