After this thread we will most likely will never get a compensation for something like this. Endless crying…

He hasn’t ever stepped into raiding during the bug window. That’s all what matters and you definitely understood what I was illustrating!

And yes, I hope we will never get compensations like this again if the implementation is that dilettantish, unfair and ridiculous.
I really don’t care about another asc chest, one bank tab of mine is full with it + I have enough magnetite shards and gold.
There are lots of people that haven’t gotten anything and lots of that don’t even know why they got a chest. It’s all about the principle and the signal to the community being a disaster.

If they are unable or more probably incapable to do such things they should just drop it and excuse bugs in one sentence. That would be fair for everyone.

Took me 3 runs of the dungeon to get the bug.

I was affected by the bug. Everyone in my raid group has been given compensation except me. Indeed one of the earlier posters in this thread was in the group. Why have I not been given the compensation Anet and had two tickets rejected? If the rest of the group is eligible then surely I must be as well. I have spent hundreds of pounds on this game and now I feel totally unvalued as a customer. I won’t be spending any more on the game since obviously I do not seem to matter.

From my group of 10 that killed VG on the 20th, half of the group has been given a ‘gift’ and half have not. Someone in my group has even been gifted twice. One of my group contacted support on behalf of those of us in the group who have been forgotten and he received a reply including this sentence;

“I am sorry you are disappointed that you or other users have not been included to receive the gift. Further gifts will not be distributed. Submitting CS tickets on this matter will all yield the same negative reply, as the CS team did not select the users involved.

This has been a complete shambles. I know I meet the criteria, and I know the others in my raid group meet the criteria. Indeed, it has been confirmed by you that my raid team meet your criteria because half of them have received gifts. Yet somehow, from the same group that had the same kill, half of us are included and half not. Everyone in my team who hasn’t received a mail played a support class of some kind… were lists created based on damage done to the boss? Is that a hidden criteria?

I wasn’t expecting anything in return for that wasted time, but then I was promised something for my efforts. Now we’re still being told we’re making stuff up when we put our hands up and say ‘er… excuse me, you appear to have forgotten us’. Or patronized because we’re clearly too stupid to understand the meaning of ‘a successful boss encounter’.

The ‘gift’ didn’t need to be offered, but by doing so, and by this poor attempt at being thorough, whether that be because of bugs or excluding people for petty reasons regarding this thread, this ‘kind gesture’ has turned into a very revealing demonstration of the communication ability of staff, and has been quite illuminating for me in redefining the words ‘accuracy’, ‘thorough’, and ‘kind’ when used by staff here.

It’s been almost a month now, since this ‘bug’ in distribution was identified, and some eligible people have still received nothing. Including at least half of my raid group, though I am sure others have been missed and simply haven’t spoken up about it, or have silently given up.

Who can blame them when it’s been insinuated time and time again that people are lying if they say they’re eligible because the lists have been, in Gaile’s own words; ‘triple-checked for accuracy’. That is such a laughable sentence at this stage.

The depths of irony, pride, and denial in all of this is extraordinary.

Most of you we identified did receive what was promised and some haven’t yet taken the items from their mail. But, it turns out, some of you simply didn’t get our in-game mail. Sentinel, Baseraver, and Wilz, you helped us, just by being you, to identify that we had a different bug affect you. Of the thousands upon thousands of players who were deemed eligible, it seems the system we used to send in-game mail failed to send to more than a thousand of you.

It is regrettable that any of you may have been missed. Please be aware that neither Gaile, the CS team, nor Anet in general lied about giving you the gift we promised. Reading through this thred, however, made it clear that something else may have broken.

The first part clearly states that I was eligible and here I am: Weeks after this post without any compensation sent to me.

I can wait.

Unfortunately i also still have a ticket open on behalf of my group, of which 3 are still missing their box, while at least 5 got it via intended way (one wrote a ticket, another one raided earlier than the clears in question)

The ticket in question with all the relevant info and account names is #6506200, in case one of the devs wants to take a look aswell.

Unfortunately, like i stated in the ticket, i am unable to drop this subject, because if i do, this ticket will imply that i am lying about me and the others being eliglible, which i am not.

This is my issue. I didn’t ask for a gift, but by qualifying for it and sitting back and accepting being overlooked, I’m implying that I’m lying, and since CS and Gaile have in effect said that everyone who qualifies has been sent a mail, and if you haven’t been sent anything, then you don’t qualify, it only makes me feel more intent on seeing this through.

It has now been over a month since the ‘bug’ was identified, and despite the ‘triple checked for accuracy’ lists which are evidently woefully inaccurate, and the distribution of the 1000 ‘bugged’ mails, Gaile and Jeremy appear to have turned their backs on this thread. Another job well-half-done. As for Gaile’s promise to not sweep anything under the rug… well, yeh.

This is very simple:

10 people hit raid boss.
10 people kill raid boss.
5 people receive compensation for no loot.
5 people still qualify, (proven by the distribution to their 5 teammates) but receive no compensation.

It has now been over a month since the last time a developer communicated to us about this issue. I have contacted support only to be completely shut down. As far as the support team are concerned, this issue has got nothing to do with them and we should not be asking them about it. Thus, our only channel of communication is this thread in which no one is replying.

Further gifts will not be distributed. Submitting CS tickets on this matter will all yield the same negative reply, as the CS team did not select the users involved.

Let’s review what we have learned from this fiasco:

1) When ArenaNet says they will send you something, every eligible member of the community should flood support immediately with requests. It is the only way to ensure you will actually receive the item. More fool you if you are stupid enough to be respectful and patient.

2) When ArenaNet explicitly request that you hold off on submitting a support ticket, completely disregard and ignore this information. In fact, you should do the exact opposite. This advice is merely an attempt to reduce workload for staff at the expense of inexperienced customers.

3) It is completely unacceptable to bad mouth ArenaNet in any way, shape, or form, especially if you dare to suggest they are lying. It is, however, standard practice for customers to be patronised, treated as being too stupid to understand what successful raid boss kills look like, and be accused of lying.

4) When ArenaNet promises that there will be no sweeping under the rug going on, this means the issue is too complex to be worth staff time. They will half-hearted tinker around for another week, then you should assume that ArenaNet have given up and moved on to other things. But do not accuse them of lying – that is not allowed.

5) When ArenaNet wants the issue to die, they will simply shut down all channels of the communication. The support team will receive instructions to not process any more requests, and staff will stop responding on the forums. The customer is left helpless and unable to do anything but complain to the wall with their frustration. Next time, make sure you follow #1 to not end up here.

This isn’t about the raid bug or the box. This is about the appalling customer service that we have been subjected to ever since this offer was put on the table. Absolutely nothing about the way this matter has been handled has been done anything close to correctly. I completely agree with Baseraver above; if you simply cannot follow through with what you started, say so. There is really no greater level of disrespect than ignoring the issue until people get bored of bringing it up.

Here are a few updates for you:

  • Some people have received their gifts, and others are waiting. We appreciate your patience as we sort through the process. In fact, the distribution will take time, because each review is a rather “manual” process.
  • Because it’s a manual process, I do not think that distributions will be made on the weekend. Again, we really appreciate your patience and understanding!
  • Yes, you must successfully have completed a raid boss encounter during the time the bug was live in order to get a gift. Not all raiders are eligible, but those were are eligible have been or will be taken care of.

We have now been patient for months. You promised that those who are eligible would be taken care of, and asked for us to be patient. Those of us who actually listened to you and did what you asked; sat quietly and didn’t pester CS relentlessly, have still not been ‘taken care of’. It doesn’t exactly provide incentive for people to do as you ask when you ignore those who do as you ask, and reward those who don’t. As ChaosStar has said… you are only teaching people to ignore what you say entirely, and proving further that you are untrustworthy.
