…Anet will cave in and listen right? Because for two years, the forums had thread after thread complaining about the horrors of having to group with other living people for a single personal story mission, and it looks like anet finally caved.

Let’s forget for a minute the fact that there’s nothing wrong about having to party up in a massively MULTIPLAYER online role playing game, but why did they have to nerf the whole path when it was previously perfectly soloable? All you needed was a single friend in a game played by hundreds of thousands, if not millions, to stand on a pressure plate at the very first event of the dungeon, for a few seconds, and the doors would open, and you’d be free to roleplay the lone-wolf dungeon explorer that you’ve always wanted to be.

So why does anet care so much about satisfying the loud complaints of players who think that the entire game should cater exclusively to them? All that their current strategy does is encourage complaining when something is too hard or too uncomfortable or doesn’t mesh well with your play style. So maybe they want us to complain?

I guess I’ll have to complain about everything that I have a problem with if I want it to be changed. I’ll have to complain about pugs using WoR to get past lupi with a minimum of skill or experience and make selling arah less profitable than it ever was. I’ll have to complain about invisible walls in places that make no sense while existing jumping-puzzle level exploits are ignored. I’ll have to complain about getting a signle new dungeon path (at the expense of an existing one) since this game launched two years ago.

Who knows? Maybe if I complain loudly enough, they’ll listen to me too.

I think it only applies to easier content and less party interaction.

It wasn’t so much about the “Horrors” of grouping up to do a part of the Personal Story. It was that forcing a group when 99% of the Personal Story was solo, with an option to bring in friends if you wanted to. It didn’t fit into the theme of PERSONAL story. Which was the chief complaint. It wasnt that hard to find players, and it was easy. But it kind of felt forced to have to join with someone to complete part of the solo experience. (Yes, there are solo experiences even in MMOs)
