Solo Dungeon option - end forced grouping
TBH, GW2 has the absolute best community of any online game I’ve seen ever, and I’ve been playing online games since before WoW’s beta days. What’s great is there’s not a lot of “omg you don’t have this specific piece of gear? You must suck, go away.” I’m not saying every single group will be friendly and lenient, but there are specific ways to do things that you just can’t avoid.
CoF P1 Farm: You bring Zerker warriors to complete the thing asap. Don’t go in there with a Zerker Guardian (DON’T MAKE ONE OF THESE PERIOD), and expect to be respected and be allowed to stay in the group. People make requests, it’s up to you to oblige by it or not. I only play soldier classes, aka the Guardian and Warrior. I play them how I like. That 0/0/30/30/10 Guardian build is by far the most boring thing ever, even if it is effective. I used the build I made before that even came out, and no one complains, why? I know how to play my Guardian. I know that if there’s a giant red circle on the ground, and I can’t move out of it fast enough, I can dodge. By knowing how to do this one thing, alone, will get you accepted into many groups.
As I said before, not every group is so forgiving. I decided to run a low level fractal, like 6 or 7. I get into a group, and instantly notice the two warriors. They were Greatsword warriors (which is fine) with 5 signets (not that fine). I got scared, and kindly (seriously, I did it nicely) asked everyone to say what they played. One Guardian had on level 80 blues and greens, which is fine, he JUST hit his first 80 20 minutes before, and wanted to start doing fractals. The warriors ping full zerker armor with zerker accessories, 30/30/0/0/10. I said fine, it’s whatever, we’ll start anyway. The other guy was a Guardian I had played with before, so I knew he’d be fine. Sons of Svanir ice fractal (mind you it’s level 6-7, no agony, nothing really hurts). The warriors rushed in, didn’t bother with torches, they were half dead by the time they got downstairs, proceeded to get wiped multiple times. Didn’t listen to instructions, didn’t know what to do which could have been solved by listening, and me and the other two guardians left.
Why did I say all that? It’s because truly, nobody freakin cares in this game WHAT you run. I play with my friend Faulty, and he’s the best dam 100% zerker Ranger I know. He knows he dies alot, so he knows how to listen and not get hit. It’s whether you’re willing to listen or not to the people running the group. If you can do that, you’ll be fine.
I have heard the last 2 arguments before. It’s an MMO. Play Skyrim if you don’t like it. Again. Blah, blah, blah. Does anyone read the reasons for heroes or scalable content? No one seems to address those directly. It’s just the fan boyz wanting everything to be HARDER!
