Time to make Fractal Account-Bound
As always with these threads, I have to ask the OP, would you be okay with having account bound fractal levels if you also had to have account bound daily chests? I.e. you only get one lvl.38 fractal chest per day, even if you have 7 or 8 alts.
I think what sucks about having FotM be character bound is that when you first start out the rewards are terrible. It takes at least 10 runs to start getting Pristine Relics in the daily chest, that’s a lot of effort for not much reward. Also, the vast majority of people who are doing levels below 10 are not doing it to improve their alt chars, they’re doing FotM for the first time, and while I hope they enjoy FotM and go far in it, I don’t enjoy partying with them.
OTOH DigitalKirin makes a great point, if they make FotM account bound you won’t be able to do multiple t4 or t3 runs using different chars. In that case I wonder how many people it will affect, because most of us don’t do more than one run in the same tier. For those who do more than one run in the same tier they could do different tiers, the rewards for doing 26 are not much worse than doing 36. They certainly aren’t as good, but for most of us I think it’s not a big concern.
Overall I’m not sure whether to say yes or no.
we’ve all seen what happens in games where there’s no disadvantage to taking your pants off.
Wait why does account bound Fotm level have to mean account bound chests?? Well i know thats what Anet will do if they make it account bound but theres not much point in doing that.
I want same, they make Fractal Account-Bound!
If they give us account bound level, they will surely make the chest account bound too. Which is why i hope it stays the way it is right now.
Yeah let’s just leave it the way it is now. If you have enough AR you can do fractal with an alt and relog at Maw.
The game is too alt unfriendly, I would like to be able to swap between different classes w/o being punished for having no fractal levels on an alt.
Wouldn’t this promote activate strategies, where a lack of class roles can be filled, more mesmars/thieves/guardians/etc where needed?
Fotm levels should be equal to all toons on an account, each can play different roles… This will great incentive for keeping the game fresh. It gets boring do the same fractal levels over/over/over again with the ONE class.
Terrible idea. You know ANET is most likely going to make the daily chest account wide as well if they did that. That will totally nerf anyone who runs fractals with multiple characters. It will be like the exp dungeon token nerf all over again.

Precisely why I am also against this idea. The op hasnt even bothered to consider that Anet changing fractal level to account bound would absolutely mean one chest per account. Also calling it “alt unfriendly” is completely opposite of the truth. Its alt friendly for the very reason of one chest per character rather then per account. It rewards those who chose to play with an alternate character, it does not punish them.
It also strikes me as rather lazy to demand a change to account bound levels because someone cant be bothered to redo the content on an alt.

Exactly. I have 11 characters to run dungeons with and that dungeon token nerf really hosed me.
