random fractal questions.
#1: The boss only reflects projectiles when he has the reflect buff up, not during the entire fight phase; you are correct that the icon for this buff looks like protection. This occurs after the boss attempts to pull players on your team. The “White Flash” attack quickly follows, so get ready to dodge, or if you’re playing Guardian and you can give Aegis, do so.
#2: You want to hit the left and right switches in the room, and then hit the center switch. The switches apply the immobilize condition. Any condition cleans or condition immunity (used before hitting first panel) will do.
I’ll add a little more info:
1.) Phase 2 of the last boss fight on Cliffside: The projectile reflect is both in a pattern and has an obvious tell. He tends to summon beasties (point animation) chase someone he wants to hit, then use the reflect/aoe light bomb (reaches down with his off hand and raises it above his head similarly to some heal animations) after that he will do the ranged grab, summon beasties and then the bomb. It becomes predictable, and the bomb is dodgable when he starts to move his arm up.
2.) Slot these skills: Defiant stance, berzerkers stance, bulls charge, sig of stamina (this one is flexible) and rampage.
Weapons: sword/warhorn. Before you enter, apply swiftness and vigor with warhorn. jump in, spam 1 as you move forward. Dodge often to speed yourself up. Bulls Charge to gain some distance. When your health gets low, pop zerkers stance and defiant stance. You will heal with each damage pulse and not get conditions briefly. This may take you out of combat and grant you increased move speed. If it does, you can probably make it without needing vengeance. After the heal, pop rampage and use 3 and then 5 to get some extra movement. If you drop, heal until you can vengeance and enter the chamber. Hit one switch, Warhorn 4, hit the other switch.
