Brisban Wildlands Seraph Observers camp - WAI?
Sounds like the waypoint should at least be contested to me. I can’t remember the exact details of the event since I last played it in BWE3, but isn’t one event supposed to be a “zone defend” type with an area ringed by a border that can be captured? I’d have figured that if it’s capture the event should be failed and another event would start up to recapture it. That said, it’s just speculation since I never saw the behaviour you’re seeing while I played.
I know exactly what you’re talking about. A friend and I spent a good 10-15 mintues sitting there, trying to keep the camp clear, and then eventually moving into the surrounding area to try to figure out what was going on.
Might be a bug related to a DE, but we never saw a related event before getting bored and moving on…
As of this afternoon, this camp is still occupied by bandits. About a dozen players were trying to clear it, unsuccessfully; the bandit spawns and respawns scaled to match the number of players. What’s odd is that one of the NPCs was just standing there, and has some dialogue about good hunting in the area. He was the only one not being attacked by the bandits. The others — including at least one vendor — kept getting killed, rezzed by players, and killed again.
If it’s designed not to be retaken, I’m baffled why there’s a vendor and a waypoint here (especially one not marked as being contested) in the first place, unless the game designers have an unusually cruel sense of humor.
I got caught there trying to help someone who was caught there, who said that they got caught there trying to res someone else.
It’s kind of a cluster, to be honest.
The last time I did that area (2-3 weeks ago I think) it was bugged in the same way on gandarra. Though annoying it is imo a bug with pro and cons. I actually used it to do that quest there very quickly. But I do understand that the waypoint isn’t contested is bugging. Getting trapped there should only happen if you are out of money, otherwise you can travel to any other waypoint. A group of 4-5 people can however make a good defensive perimeter around the waypoint to make sure that trapped people can get out. Do not forget to type /bug and report it.

I don’t mean to rez an old thread, but I’d rather not make a new one for the same issue. I’d like to know if this is the intended operation, because it certainly doesn’t seem so. That waypoint is WAY out there and would be really useful if you could actually, you know, use it…
That camp looks like if a “Defend the Camp” DE got bugged and the bandits keep spawning/scaling to the number of players in the area, etc. The first time I got there via the escort event, and thought waves of bandits were related, but then I saw that they kept spawning and spawning endlessly. It’s funny how there are no bots there though =)).
Bumping this one because it’s still exactly the same. I’ve never seen anything so ridiculous in my life. It’s simply impossible to kill the mobs in the camp before they’re replaced with fresh ones. What on earth is the point of this place?

This is a bug. There’s supposed to be an event where you defend the Observer camp from bandits, but it seems that the event is either not triggering properly, or not finishing properly, so the bandit waves just come endlessly. I’ve reported it, but because it’s not tied to a Heart or Vista/POI, it’s probably low on the priority list of things to fix.
I’ll rez the thread again, and not necro it because the subject matter hasn’t changed, and the “event” is still going on. 3+ months of invading bandits; quite an accomplishment.
Yeah I went out there today and the same was going on. It seems to be that there is just no notification of the DE when you are near this wp and also the wp doesn’t go contested as it probably should. They should adjust the DE so that it shows next to this wp so you know why the waves are persistent.
I just ran into that camp..6 months and its still like that? What is going on?
I was in this camp today and it is STILL bugged. Seems like it should be an easy fix, and maybe a bit more of a priority after being bugged for 6 months straight?
I’ve had an issue with the past three characters I’ve run through Brisban when reaching this waypoint. I feel like this has to be bugged, it isn’t possible to keep the NPCs alive really, especially if you turn your back from them…at all, for a second.
I hope this gets fixed – it’d be less annoying if it there was another waypoint nearby that was safer.
I’ve been to that camp. Good place to farm, though I’d watch for the bomb layer bandits.

Yeah I wouldn’t get you’re hopes up there’s not a lot of reason to got to Brisban in the first place, besides world completion, so I doubt it’ll ever get fixed
I challenge ArenaNet to prove the naysayers wrong. This little patch has been bugged since I first played the area last august. If it’s not bugged, it would be nice for someone from A-Net to say so here.

yeah…still bugged. I thought i was doing something wrong but apparently just over tuned?
Still bugged. The event needs to at least conclude, or have more robust NPCs to assist (NPCs that aren’t always dead when you show up to the event)!

Have patience people. It’s only been 13 months since the first report and numerous reports since then. Give them time to analyze the situation and come up with a solution.

Yeah I gave up hope that any of the events in Bloodtide would be fixed somewhere in the middle of the summer. Last time I was through there at least half of the DE’s were broken, the same DE’s broken in the same way as the first time I was there in December…
for low levels this can be used as a slow xp farm. same as the entrance to the catacombs in the first charr story mission infinately spawning mobs
