A foolproof way to make us happy.
I would love to kill him.
Never before have I seen a more uninspiring character in a game. Arrogant and unfeeling, dull looking with a dull voice and a dull personality.
Honestly, he looks like a pile of putrid vegetable matter that’s been rotting in the bottom of the kitchen bin. I look at the Sylvari players in-game and some of them are just fantastic looking; colourful, vibrant and beautiful. Trahearne just looks murky. There’s absolutely nothing epic or mighty about him. Just dull. I actually cringed when he gave one of his “rousing” speeches. He’s just not a man you’d follow into battle. Not at all.
Think of William Wallace; “Fight and you may die. Run and you will live, at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell our enemies, that they may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom! Alba gu BrĂ th!”
Think of Aragorn; “Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!”
Think of Winston Churchill; “We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,
We shall fight on the seas and oceans,
We shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air,
We shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
We shall fight on the beaches,
We shall fight on the landing grounds,
We shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
We shall fight in the hills;
We shall never surrender!”
This is the sort of thing that gets the blood flowing for battle…
Now think of Trahearne and weep.
By all means make me a sidekick but at least let me be the sidekick of someone cool, someone I’d want to fight and die beside. Trahearne ruined the Story for me entirely.
Tahearne has a bad wrap. He’s certainly not your typical hero. He’s not an antihero. He’s a scholar put, against his will, into a position of leadership. It doesn’t make him a leader. He’s out of his depth most of the time and tries to cover it with rationality.
He’s not particularly badly voice-acted. And he’s not particularly badly written. But he’s definitely not what most people would turn to as the image of a hero. If he were generic, everyone would love him, but he’s not, so a lot of people hate him.
He’s not as bad as people say he is (though they should definitely have not included the lines “this won’t end well”).
Why hate logan?
Logan is a man who made a mistake and the guilt haunts him, but he was a hero and still shows heroism.
Trahearne is the king of Mary Sues: he jumps out of nowhere with zero experience and somehow everyone acts passively to him and bows head to everything he says, let him take over everything and he so enjoys his own voice.
Hell even Rurik is better than Trahearne.
I hope he takes an arrow to the knee….
Trahearne was a reluctant hero. Anet went out of their way to make him as non-threatening to your tender egos as possible, and yet still you hate on him.

Totally agree, the NPC is just pitiful, everything about trahearne screams annoying
^^^rockstar dps…..i can smell you from here
I hate him because the Marketing said we’d have a personal story added to Guildwars 2, not Traheanes personal Story added to Guildwars 2 as we eventually were given..
The DPS was needed because traheane cant do kitten….
