I instead spent time studying the TP (Which is something I enjoyed anyway), came up with some spreadsheets and a business strategy.

In a videogame.
About killing monsters in a fantasy setting.

Hm.
K.

In older RPG’s appraisal/mercantile is considered a character skill… GW2 replaces a lot of character skills (like dodging/dexterity) with player based twitch skills.

Think of it as character development

Lol Ryuujin, you’re like those people that got the answer for everything. (kind of like my wife)

Well apparently I’ve figured out the secret to GW2 wealth and happiness and everyone would rather wallow in self pity – it’s really quite strange xD

This is the only thing left for my legendary, if I could I’d gladly exchange my Gift of Bifrost or Gift of Mastery for it (Gift of Fortune is too sick to exchange).

They make things hard to reach through grinding, not challenge, I will repeat this for the thousandth time: grinding is not challenge, and playing the TP also has nothing to do with getting a “legendary”.

Even Priston Tale was better in this sense. lolz

On the subject of Precursors for Legendaries. I’ve been seeing Legendaries shown on the TP for highest traded items (for about 3200g or so.) So why bother with the precursors, if you can buy the Legendaries right off. (Saw Dusk on CD, and all the legendaries listed on Isle of Janthir.)

These are not the droid you are looking for, move along… → ESO, FireFall, NW :)

What makes you think that a normal player with ever have the thousands of gold required to afford a legendary when they are struggling to buy a precursor……… -_-’

There is a nice calculator for the exact price of a Legendary:
https://bravevesperia.com/extra/weaponcalculator.php

Bottom line, legendaries not a reasonable goal for playing. They are not something to motivate a player having reached 80-Full Exotic. It is not even vertical progression, since it lacks the most fundamental part of vertical progression: the actual progression. Although it is about as vertical a cliff as can be constructed in a game.

Precursors are but one factor in that equation. It is sad to see that there are only three tier of items currently.
(1) Trash rares to dump into the mystic forge like lottery tickets.
(2) Exotics for 3-4 gold (with some being a bit more expensive).
(3) Precursors, Legendaries and Super-Rares with prices that do not server as a mechanism to motivate and retain the playerbase.

Same goes for ascended items. You first burn through some random +5 rings, before you then burn through random +10 rings. At the level you play, the rest of the stats do not even matter. It does not matter the ascended rings are 8% more powerful, because it does not even matter if you have ones supporting the rest of your attribute setup.

After tons of playing with the TP and help from the best person ever, I managed to finally get my Zap, no to finish farming for all the other components. It takes tons of effort and lots of boredom, that’s for sure.
