Age of GW2 Players
32 and highly entertained.
Seeing a lot of 20s and 30s with the odd 40s here and there.
I’m in my 20s.
30 and loving the game
Almost 35 SWM. I play for fun, and will be here a long time.
Vyt Mindbender- Mesmer
Fort Aspenwood since BWE 3. Spirit of Faith (HOPE)
26 here and all guildies are older than me.
Love this game, came from Aion, and Rift before that. I enjoy games and tech in general and always have, even when I was small and the internet wasn’t a thing.

I think that we are going back to what we really like about mmoRPGs and that is the open world and exploration.
What makes me play GW2 and not other games are the activities in the open world. I rarely do dungeons, sometimes i go into sPVP for some action and WvW is usually very boring for me unless there is a major battle which kinda gets boring after 5 minutes of constant attacks and respawns and attacks again.
But yeah the alive open world is something that i am really hoping Anet will develop further and not so much on instances.
42 here.
I believe I see a pattern.

32 and absolutely loving it and hoping that the community stays large
15, enjoying this game quite a lot and played GW1, love the amount of cooperation in this game, it gives a friendly atmosphere you don’t see a lot. Although I’m rather disappointed on the bugs though..
31 and love the game but bored already with no progression…. played most of what this game has to offer and with no char progression of any form it gets very repetitive.
41 in a few weeks. 9/10 for me.
I came here with a contingent of players from Old Republic Dads/SWToR guild.
I’m 98 next Wednesday*. I’m vaguely suspicious of computers and am certain the Internet runs on steam. I am amazed at how many women here play games, until I remember women can do anything men can, like vote or wear pants. I’m a bit scandalized the female costume armor show more than a little tantalizing ankle, but understand you young people with your young people ways may have different morals than I. And – I’m pretty sure the nonsense words that pop up in the Chatter Text Box thing, like “lulz” or “pwned”, are the foulest forms of street urchin slang.
Even with all that, I enjoy this game greatly. With a life span that may last a few hours more, I don’t have hours a day spend hours in front of a moving picture role playing game grinding away. I like that I can get in, get out, and get on with my life. What’s left of my life, I mean.
*Not 98.
34, the only set back it takes 5 Gobs of Ectoplasm.
39 and love it…have two sons that play as well. They are 19 and 9 :-)
Not So Epic [HAL]
32 and decided to quit the game today. For two months I thought I will get used to things that bothered me from the very beginning but today I realized its time for me to stop wasting time. A decision not easily made considering how many years I spent with GW1.
31 and the game is a casual smorgasbord.
I’m 56 and like this MMO. In fact, it’s the most unigue MMO I’ve played since Dark age of Camelot. I was actually about to perma-quit MMOs after the SWTOR ripoff and the RIFT mob gankfest when a friend suggested GW2 and now I’m happy as a hog in slops!
Well I feel super young suddenly, I’m only 19 haha. I really enjoy this game so much though.
In my 20s, but also completing a medical degree so time is precious. This game is perfect pick-up-and-play fodder for people with a schedule like mine.
Stay classy community!
23 and loving the game. But it might also because I have a bachelors in game design.
I’ll be 18 next month and it’s great. I’m very excited to see where the game goes from here. Seeing all these MMO launches leads me to believe that things can only really start growing/progressing after all the hype has deflated. Aside from just being a good time right now this game has a ton of potential.
16 here and I am loving it. Going to be playing this game for a long time.
I really like the lore in the Guild Wars series and it’s kinda neat how they continue on with some of the things from Gw1.
The art style is really cool also, it’s all so beautiful.
The Halloween event is pretty epic so far, can’t wait for the other Acts!
(Can’t wait to see Mad King Thorn also, he was like my favorite npc in Gw1.)
Dragonbrand
I’m 19 and my friends are about the same age. We all dumped our old MMOs (stuff like WoW, LotRO, and Mabinogi) and are all happily playing Guild Wars 2. Don’t think we’ll stop any time soon. We love being able to all be at differen points in the game and still being able to play together when ever we want. We all play a little different (altiholics, rushers, vista viewers, and WvW conquerors) and still all love it.
31 and enjoying it.
I’m 17 and I’m enjoying the game a lot.
27, started following GW when I was about 17…still probably my favorite game to date, though GW2 is growing on me
39 and I play it less and less. It feels more of a “service” than a game, to me.
31, my wife 26, most guildmembers also around the same age and all loving it.
Turned 28 last week and extremely disappointed….
I love GW2 though!
Me 54, husband 64, and we are having a blast! Other guild members include our children in their 30’s, friends in their 30’s and our 13 year old grandson. Fun, fun, fun!
It’s a good thing to keep the older people happy. We have a lot more money to spend in the cash shop.
I’m 21, aswell as my friends, and we love the game
I’m 32 and my wifey is 29, her brother is 31 and his gf 31 + her brother 36 – all very satisfied with the game, made our family guild, doing everything together – family dungeon runs and jumping puzzles are fantastic!
26, loving the game. Been playing MMO’s exclusively since I was 15, started with a 2D game called Dark Ages by Nexon and have been playing them non-stop ever since.
My husband and I started dating when we were 15 and could only see each other on weekends due to distance, if it wasn’t for MMO’s, we probably wouldn’t have lasted through our teenage years. Now we’ve been married over a year and our 11 year anniversary will be in January. I have gaming to thank for that.
He and many friends of ours are currently playing the game. We’re all between 23 & 26.
I’m 32 and expect I’ll be enjoying this game well into middle age

38 and loving the game very much! There are are a few things that need tweaking, just like any game, but for the most part, I’m loving this game.
28 and loving it! I am able to find a little bit of everything to keep me content and I look forward to future updates.
26 here! GW2 is the best! Looking forward to what ANet have in their sleeves.

Awesome. Must be fun to have a family guild!
37 and I’ve left already because I’m tired of the cynical design choices.
55… so old I have a copy of Chainmail, the game gary gygax out out before D&D!
Been playing computer and conole games since Pong…..
15 here >.<
40 here, and loving it. It’s pace suits my busy life, it’s wonderful to just stroll around exploring.
51 and having a blast, even though I haven’t been playing very long. I’ve been playing video games since Space Invaders, and have done my time in more than one MMO (primarily EQ and WoW.) I love the cooperative play but I’m actually having quite a bit of fun in WvW. I appreciate that it’s casual-friendly without being stupidly easy.
32 here. /sigh
The time goes by so fast.

Thanks! The funny thing is that me and Grandpa are the ones that got the kiddies started playing MMO’s and not the other way around.

Gary Gygax!!! Unearthed Arcana was the coolest D&D book evah! And the cover art was fantastic!
I troll because I care
28 and I really like the game. I’ve been a casual gamer all my gaming life with the exception of about 9 months of HC WoWing when I was 21.
50 & diggin’ it
