Anet's Priority on Fixing Bugs
They explained what happened. They made a fix for the Hatchery bug. They also made a global fix for sound in the game which affected the fix for the Hatchery bug. Because of this, the original bug fix has to be tested along with the sound change for the whole game, and probably dozens of other fixes that have also been made. It’s in testing, and because of dependencies on other changes and fixes, they can’t say when it will reach the live server.
That’s where we stand. I’m not happy about it either. I think their system seems really disorganized and isn’t as effective as it could be. Show-stopping bugs in elements of the game like the personal story should be able to be fixed in a week, not a month or more. The fact that patch notes are very incomplete or non-existent when they do new builds also leads me to think things are kind of “wild west” within the company.
Anyway, it is what it is. The fix is in testing and someday will make it to live. I’m in the same boat… level 77 now and stuck on a level 40-something personal story step. I’ve had to change the way I explore and do each zone, because all the experience and items I would have gotten from the personal story have been missing.
