Judging from the gold→gem history it seems account upgrades cause gemprice spikes, black lion keys aswell as some Rox/braham etc. skins and the new outfit. Although on September 1st it could also be due to the dye kits. I have been holding on to my gems that i converted a long time ago. Perhaps I should have bought the bank tab expansion etc. Here is hoping the final day will bring an item I was hoping for :P

Let’s be realistic here. Many people bought HoT Ultimate package. All those players got 4K gems. To spend them they had to be lured into it with offers. This sale with “not so loved stuff” was for them, to spend those gems from expansion, and later on start buying gems with real money.

They hit 2 targets with one blow (or Anniversary Sale): most new players and Ultimate HoT buyers with 4K gems on the line got broke but happy, and most veteran players with lots of gold spent some gold to not miss the offers (while gold-gem conversion got more balanced). As a side note, they dropped electro dyes price from the 1K mark with gifts and offers during this time.

It’s pointless to argue if we are happy or not. We are happy, otherwise we would not be playing this game or talking on it’s forums. New players are also happy, because with 100$ they exit from free account limits, while getting core-game, expansion, extra deluxe bonuses, plus 4K gems they were very tempted to use in an Anniversary Sale. We are all happy, otherwise we would not be here reading these lines.

Yeah. I’m estactic. I’ve never been so overwhelmed in all my life with exciting choices, good prices and the return of items that have been requested for months. My little heart goes pitty pat, it has had so much excitement. I don’t think that ANet can do anything to make the last day of sales better, it’s been so amazingly good.

I’m not surprised we haven’t seen character slots or makeover kits discounted — these are items that people are likely to buy regardless. In contrast, things like bag slots, gathering tools, etc are things that some people will buy if offered at a reduced price.

Please note, there is a bunch of stuff available as part of the event, like scarlets grasp and shoulders for event items and 10g!
So some of the skins people were asking for are back in-game!
The Selfless Potion was in there too!
I’d include a whole list but my game just crashed!

I actually wish it had ended today …. put it out of its misery. If they are not going to have the most requested items on sale (character slots and bunny ears) this is just delaying people buying character slots and keeping the cost of gems way too high. Whether they are in the sale eventually or not people will yell about them until they can buy them again.

I think this anniversary sale was a bit misleading as far as the “bringing back classic gem store items” angle. Everyone was hoping for some rare outfits & accessories, but instead we were offered white/black angel wings (on sale not long ago) and discounts on existing gem store outfits & items. If anything this sale was more focused on selling bag-bank-crafting slots etc.

Granted, I spent over $50 during this sale on necessity items for maintaining my nine characters, but I was really hoping for fun cosmetic options that we have not seen up for sale in a long time and extremely disappointed as far as sales event go.

Unless they release a bunch of stuff on the final day id say this anniversary sale has been lackluster at best. Most of this was only taken off the store a couple months ago. Where’s the character slot sale? I wanted more pvp finishers on sale. Should have had everything on sale.

My other professions are already spread across 4 toons so I dont have to spend money to swap (yes, I’m cheap, swapping toons is free), so I’ll likely give it to my Rev.

Also Heroic Booster
1 for 105 (150), 5 for 445 (637), 20 for 1470 (2100).

Not that I recommend using gems on minor consumables, but if you want to, hey, it’s on sale.

The makeover kit isn’t too bad. A lot of people will be make a Revenant or chars that specialize in the new elite professions. Many will be wanting to give them one of the gemstore hairstyles, hair colors or faces so this is a good time to pick up a makeover kit.

Hey, y’know you can use the kits to bulk up your muscle, get in better fighting trim (or, hmm, lose muscle if you’ve overdone the workouts and are musclebound). All in the name of making you a meaner fighting machine.
