I accidentally deleted the chat windows tabs. I get that you can ‘replace’ them with new ones you create yourself however this does not recreate the original behaviour of the original chat windows.

For example, with the recreated chat tabs I get to be frustrated by an ‘M’ or a ‘G’ (for /map and /guild) for example next to the chat message — like it’s not obvious enough with a different colour.

Only ever played with the default chat setup since launch and I’m stunned there isn’t a very simple button to press to just restore the chat tabs to the default. The chat setup now frustrates me and I can’t get used to it and it just makes me not want to play.

The -prefreset command line argument (Wiki – Search – Command Line Argument) may reset the chat window, I’m not sure.

If you decide to try it, be aware it will reset all preferences.

Good luck.

I don’t know if there’s a way to reset the chat window, but you can get rid of those tags by clicking the gear at the top left of your chat window and deselecting “show channel tag”.
