Ugh, I know. I would PvP except this is the worst meta GW2 has ever had. Conditions, conditions everywhere. Pretty much making half the professions useless and limiting builds to condition damage.
So thanks ArenaNet, for lying about updating visuals and completely ignoring the bugs. You hate Legendaries almost as much you hate Elementalists.
Actually, Anet cares a lot about legendaries. They make up a sizable portion of their gem purchase income along with being a massive gold sink in the game.
The problem is that even though they’ve made changes some people are unhappy with, those changes have not significantly impacted the income that legendaries generate.
Just watch. If Anet does something that messes up a legendary so bad that it’s weekly moving volume on spidy drops drastically, along with lots of complaints on the forum, they’ll have it fixed with the next patch.
Remember, if Anet does, or does not, do something and it doesn’t make sense or you can’t figure out why, always ask yourself if it affects their income.

Improving things already ingame won’t get any cash for them. They stopped caring about visual quality right after release. Who is gonna rate them now?

That is not quality, its just FX. No style, no concept, no art. This patch adds more of these fairy wings,… at this rate we will all be playing burning crusade in a couple of months.

You’re confusing your subjective opinion of their added effects with the objective fact that devs actually spent time and effort adding said effects.
Yes that’s the problem, game’s out, good rates are done. Artists are fired, devs are doing artists jobs. Voila! Fairy wings for everyone! Who has time for concept in one of the most beautifully released games? of course they don’t, screw the original art and add more fairy space wings!

Not sure if serious. If yes, do you happen to have a source for the info? I’ve heard in the past that the original development teams are gone now. It would explain a LOT.

Ps. Btw, what it was done in harry potter it’s been done since filmmakers started doing movies. Try reading again my example. Read it 10 times if needed. Maybe by accident you will get it.

Oct 2012: Queensdale is overrun by skeletons and Candy Corn elementals. Giant pieces of Candy Corn appear all over the world. You can mine them.
Yeah, quality has really declined a year after they released the game.
It was a special event for Halloween and yes it wasn’t fond with the lore and aesthetic of the game but at least they created the madking and tried to make it fit. Not much damage was done with the introduced skins even though I don’’t like them either.
Now the wings are pathetic, a lame attempt at doing something “new”. There is a good reason why none of their NPC wears them. The day they promote their game showing characters wearing those wings is the day I’ll shut up about this (and probably move to another game; no, you can’t have my things )

For example I don’t have wings on any of my characters.
Come to think of it the most glowy thing I have is a Jotun Sword on my lvl 40 mesmer
If you don’t like it don’t use it.
Some people obviously do enjoy it but I think they take it a bit less seriously and more in the spirit of fun, fantasy, rp or whatever.
At least some of the huge Norns running around with pink plate, a princess wand and wings/ quaggan backpack seem quite deliberately tongue in the cheek to me.
Which brings me back to my original point. It’s okay to do that because you said it’s okay, but it’s not okay to do the other thing because you don’t like it.
Whatever, when you’re in charge of the game you can make those decisions.

I think it’s been a sort of industry standard that holidays were a time in which exceptions could be made to the general rule, though in GW2, Halloween was likely a good indication of things to come.
City of Heroes always had a great Christmas/winter theme going on in December, but unlike GW2, when it was gone, the only real evidence that it had taken place was the ability to purchase candy-canes at Wentworth’s, along with a couple wintery costumes. Beyond that though, at least until it’s last year, it was not an in-your-face deal like things are here in GW2.
No use in talking about it though. Anet is going to do whatever makes them the most money for their investors, users be kittened.

I don’t particularly think it is ruined even though I don’t like all of it myself.
The game is very beautiful indeed and even on the skins I don’t like I see that Anet put little touches that make me smile- like the dangling button eye on that quaggan backpack I so dislike.
Seeing all these fantastical beings running around also makes me smile because it makes the world interesting and varied to me.
The various races and technologies are pretty diverse already.
It does get very shiny at times but eh, I can always stand back and rubberneck while fading into the background.
It honestly doesn’t bother me that much- I have seen an awful lot of wings though and I really don’t like wings that can’t fly.
I guess it is like fashion- things come and go.
Honestly I prefer a bunch of Fairies to Deathknights- so cliche and boring.
