Best 2 Man Team ???
I’m playing a W myself too. I’ve gone very tanky. Loaded up on defense and healing/regen. I also use a hammer. Great for interupts and knockdowns. Plus it hits real hard. Between my heavy defense/regen, I can stand toe to toe with most foes for a long time. (I maxed my strength and my defense BTW)
If you run a damager behind me and its a blast. I can easilly hold hold aggro, while a damager wrecks them. They never see it coming.
Yeah I was thinking of a damage class, specifically the Elementalist cause I could do great AOE damage and plus could switch to Water for some support Healing if need be.
Pairing best with a warrior?
probably either D/D elementalist, or a guardian.
Both of those classes will be near you during the fightings, and also able to buff you consistantly (I know on my ele I could be giving people ~12 stacks of might, fury, and protection if they were near me [near meaning melee range] )
Guardians on the other hand can load you up with boons too, and well as heal real nice like. And unless he rolls one of the longer range weapons, again, you’ll both be close enough to each other to share effects of any supportive AOE’s
I would actually have another warrior with you. If one runs Hammer/dual axe, the other can go Bow/Warhorn and add A LOT of support, control and cross profession combos.
I would have the bow/warhorn bring banner of defense and have the hammer/dual axe bring all signets.
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
You know, I’ve never been one for melee, but this game largely changed that for me. Its one of the things that was well done in this game.
Yeah I was also thinking of the Guardian, which would enable me to offer support and healing as well as hold my own in melee combat.
As far as the Warrior/Warrior combo I hadn’t thought of that cause I really enjoy playing the signet warrior build but i could shift into a support warrior when I played with him and if I decided to cheat and play on my own a bit :P I could change back to signet.
Really great insight and thanks for the opinions.
Yeah same here I usually always play a caster, always enjoyed doing awesome dmg from a distance but for some reason the warrior on this game is just so much fun. Perhaps its because their regular attacks hit multiple enemies instead of just the selected target like in so many other games. So with that and their survivability makes for fun game play.
Frankly? Whatever you want! Play what you feel like, what matters is how you spec your traits and what Utility skills you bring. One of you speccing for Vitality and Healing, the other for Damage, for example. Or one of you bringing all the stuns, the other all the immobilizers.
Or you simply both bring all your crowd control, and all your DPS and kill things before they even so much as breathe on you. Any professions can work, it’s all in how you play them.
@Ten, yeah I agree with you 100% which is basically the conclusion I was coming to. In most games there is usually a best duo but in this game since the roles aren’t as clear and they all perform so well its a bit iffy.
whatever you like as every class offers a wide variety to adjust your team´s abilities. Personally, I team with a friend who is mainly a meleeing ranger and I have an engineer, staying ranged, tossing in the occasional elixir and switching to elixir gun if some more support is needed or flame thrower for swarming enemies. It´s fun.
Personally? I think I’d run as a Mesmer or Elementalist if I had a Warrior buddy. Mesmer ’cause, well, I just like Mesmer. They can be in your face melee while your clones and phantoms run as distractions to keep enemies off your backs. You can also cause all sorts of havoc with staff, which can put all sorts of buffs on you via Chaos Storm. You can also make it so your shatters heal, so you always have that.
Elementalist gets a ton of support abilities. Plus, tons of combo fields, which a Dual Axe Warrior can put to good effect.
Honestly, you can’t really go wrong with any class combo. I think your personal set ups need to mesh more than your classes do. Like, don’t do a condition build if your Warrior buddy is setting up a condition build, ‘cause Warriors can hit the bleed cap pretty easily and quickly, which limits what you can do. So, don’t run a bleed Warrior and a Necro at the same time, or you won’t be as effective.
Goal: To have one character of every race, gender, and armor class combination at level 80.
