I’m curious, is there a reason why only the females of the humanoid races have a slider for their cheeks?

It seems like it would be another little thing to help make your characters’ face more unique, and since its already been successfully implemented on the female half of the models, why can’t males also have the option to have more rounded cheeks or sharper cheekbones?

Yeah, it would be good.

I guess I just assumed that it would be available for males, as well?

The only issue I have with the slider, is that it seems (at least on the preview) to only increase the mid part of the cheek, as opposed to the higher, apple of the cheek (which is quite flat on my char’s face type, anyway).

It looked a bit weird, so I just ended up leaving it at the standard size.

Not entirely sure if it ends up looking like that in-game, as well, or whether it’s only on the preview?

Pretty sure the reason for no male cheek slider has to do with the beards. If the cheeks were made too gaunt or too chubby, it’d either leave a gap or clip through the preset beards.

Maybe. But both female and male Norns have facial tattoos. Wouldn’t they be considered preset also?

Tattoos are 2D textures, they don’t have a mesh like beards do.

Possibly, seems like they left out the slider so they wouldn’t have to deal with any inconsistencies regarding face presets. As for female norn, I’d leave that for someone to find out about.

On past games that use male presets/beards, it’s been a similar pattern. (Nwn2)

This is interesting to know, I’ve never made a male character so didn’t know about it. I also agree with Tigaseye about the cheekbones being left out.

I think that’s one of the main drawbacks of the customisation system, you cannot change the base features at all, so the variety of faces you can make is very limited, unless you go to the extreme, which looks ridiculous. It makes it even more of a problem, as people have said before, when you want non-white faces, the basic faces we get just don’t work.
