Chinese server is waiting for redemption
Well Anet can’t say they have not been warned for what you mention as your second and third point.
I do think they should move to monthly content updates when they start the updates again, and not bi weekly. More time to play, and more time for them to develop.
Or even better, to yearly expansions. More time to develop, another source of income that allows them to put rewards in fun ways in the game in stead of behind a grind or in a cash-shop.

The problem with biweekly wasn’t that it was a bad model, it was that if you couldn’t get on in those two weeks it disappeared forever. That’s a horrible design for anything that can come into conflict with real world commitments. You alienate people who travel for business, people who work seasonal jobs that take them away for weeks at a time then have weeks off, military and aid workers who aren’t on a fixed home schedule, and on and on. It was a very poorly thought out experiment that ruined what was an excellent idea on paper for keeping the game fresh.
I’m bored. Only thing that keeps me playing this game is friends, quality of combat and nice graphics, plus the fact there’s not much else that interests me.
The problem as I see it is that this games target audience is a casual player base. Nothing wrong with that but if they add hard content the main player base will be upset. Basically there’s not much point going hardcore with this game you will feel the burn out fast.
As a business they are catering to what the most people want as well as thinking about how to squeeze the most money out of their game. So far that has meant gem shop items and lackluster living story being the main focus. Their esports PvP is a really strange and pointless endeavour IMO but good luck to them making it big time on that.
End of the day. People make up anet. These people probably care about their game. But anet and ncsoft are companies and companies exist to make money.

It wasn’t actually bi-weekly: four bi-weekly episodes every six months is not really “bi-weekly.”
If they go monthly, it’d just be two “monthly” updates every six months.
The real problem is their glacial development pace (in every aspect of the game: playable content, balance, bug fixes, etc.)
I hope a Dev reads OP’s post. However all the qq about ascended kind of shows how Anet is right by catering to the casual crowd. It’s a shame really.

Are you talking about S1? Because back then episodes used to appear every 2 weeks but they stayed for 4 weeks.

You have recently come back right? Or did you miss that the whole season 2 is replayable? Season 2 was every two weeks… Though in my opinion they had a few too long breaks.

5 To a once a week based on the occupation of the city’s war, it is very interesting. At the same time give special reward.
I might misunderstood but this is a great idea, if once a week for example Black Citadel will be invaded by ghost, an 30min event or something short timing, but very violent in attack. I know old maps are death maps in anet’s eyes but still a great ideea
A Skritt is dumb. A group of Skritt are smart.
A Human is smart. A group of Humans are idiots.

I’m speaking to S1’s content of one and done, miss and miss it forever.
ArenaNet should create something similar to Wildstar’s PATHS, and build it in the game in GW2-style.
Because wildstar was such a huge success to be taken as an example. I completely forgot the game was ever created till i saw your post lol.

WS is definitely bigger succes with it’s boss encounters than GW2 will ever be.
I’m not sure there’s much basis to call something a ‘bigger success’ because of its boss encounters. . . .
But, regardless, something’s got to give sooner than later. Waiting on the expansion, with zero content updates, isn’t working on either side of the pond.
Apparently.
2 The game rewards are very bad.
If even asian players think the reward system is bad, well ANet I think it’s fair to say it really is bad.
No offense intended of course.
One of the biggest problems is that GW2 is a AAA game. Its not some cheap kitten FTP game where people expect the game to be a crappy unrewarding grind fest but that’s what Arenanet are treating the game like. I think everyone except Arenanet and a few white knights expect more from a AAA game. When HoT comes out the only thing we can expect is more of the same. After over a year of waiting for them to support things like the NPE and Trait changes with little to nothing being done it is obvious that Arenanet does not have the will to actually treat GW2 like a AAA game.

And yet it was dead for about a month after release, even worse with all that enormous hype before releasing it.

1) the NPE was put in because the game wasn’t retaining new players at expected levels, something each game needs to survive. If they haven’t changed the NPE it’s probably because it’s meeting its goals, at least in the west, and new players are staying. If it causes new players to be retained then even if it annoys some veteran players, that could be quite acceptable to ANet.
2) traits are going back to a system similar to the old system before the HoT release. All each person will need is a level 80 and some Hero challenges to have full unlock.
ANet may give it to you.
