Hey there,

I’m creating this thread to raise awareness about an issue.
Some sections of this forum could use more attention from developers.

For instance the profession section has been collecting dust for a long while.
Last time we had an official word on the *ranger forum was almost *4 months ago.
The balance team is doing a good job engaging the Spvp community, but ironically the profession section is completely ignored.

Please post your positive/negative feedback about “community engagement” and keep it constructive, the point of this Thread is to improve developer/user communication.

I would appreciate at least a “ping” from ArenaNet acknowledging whether a class is where they believe it should be or if some “tuning” is currently warranted.

Pings on various “bugs” in the bug lists on each class forum as well could use some acknowledgement as well.

It gets tiresome and discouraging seeing only player posts about bugs, possible balance issues, etc. for months without any feedback whatsoever.

While Colin is doing a good job providing a face in general, I believe they are not in the professions because they don’t have a lot to say at the moment. Core game is obviously not prioritized over monthly events. I mean, you got to pull them off or you wouldn’t be able to market on oodles of free content. I honestly don’t look for a lot of stabilization and balancing in the core game in the near term. I think monthly events and fire drills (Laurels) have taken up the development resources since 11/15. I do hope they get to the professions and core systems soon. I notice they are hiring and that’s a good sign. I logged into my necro last night (lvl29) and just decided to wait for them to address condition damage builds…just not worth the effort leveling till then.

I’ve mained a ranger since launch and had no idea until recently how pathetic even a full damage specced rangers DPS is. I made an alt warrior, levelled him up a fair bit and can already start seeing numbers greater than a fully geared zerker ranger… this is just sad. Add in the fact that in dungeons pets wipe instantly, 80% of our skills/traits are absolutely useless, and all the bugs involved it makes me pretty mad that we have yet to see or hear anything about ACTUAL improvements and fixes to our pointless class. Shelving my ranger and working on my warrior until I can actually contribute at least something to my team with a ranger.

I do get your point I can’t help but to wonder though if keeping quiet is a better solution than giving us a heads up about what is to come, how they feel about hot topics and major concerns regarding professions balance and bugs.

I do understand the concept of “backlash” but is it a good enough reason to justify almost 4 months of silence?

Instead they could be more open, discuss the hot topics and mitigate the “backlash”, that would likely be caused by the gap of time between acknowledging the issues and fixing it, by explaining the nature of software development, prioritization, etc.

I wish we had more initiatives like the “State of the game”(spvp) interviews hosted by GW2GURU. That’s an excellent format that could address professions, dungeons and WvW on a monthly basis.

I am frustrated by the lack of communication from the devs and the sorry state the ranger class is in. I see other class’s that look like they are having a blast and are viable. Sadly making a new character is not really an option as the game is just not that entertaining that I would want to go through leveling again.

This is exactly how I feel, too. Made my new warrior yesterday because I’m tired of feeling like I’m not doing anything in a group. I’m actually good at being a ranger, but I had no idea of the ceiling that we’re apparently hitting. Anet, people literally spend hundreds of hours playing this game. After not hearing responses from you aside from that one hopeful one a while ago regarding this issue, I’m shelving my main. For all of my hours to go to waste is just awful. Please, say something.

Even a single word of ackowledgement would be great, a single “yeah we’re going to buff weapon a,b,c and rework utility d” or “no the class is fine we’re not gonna touch it”.

Absolute silence only gives the impression no one at Anet cares about class balance in pve.

Leveling a warrior now as well, and the difference is night and day, i run around at lv 60 in greens, 5 signets i never use and random traits and still do more dmg then with my ranger in exos&ascendeds.
