Currency Exchange?
As a security measure for stolen accounts the currency exchange is blocked for some time after you activate your account. I believe it’s 2 days (might be a little more or a little less).

Just for future reference to all those who have this issue I did get confirmation from support about this. I tried looking everywhere for an exact answer and couldn’t find anything so here it is.
