Dear ANet,

In light of the jack in the box and spewing geyser harvesting tools (and other assorted visual noise harvesting tools), I was wondering if you could create a darkness themed harvesting tool that would cause everyone’s screen in the map to go inky dark (perhaps with swirling purple) for 10 seconds and have a Mad King maniacal laughter that drowns out all other game sound for the same duration? That would be great. Thanks.

If I’m fighting some creature/trying to make a precarious jump/whatever, I’m pretty sure I don’t want my screen to suddenly go dark for 10 seconds.

Sorry, but please ArenaNet, don’t create these tools.

Thank you.

-tool goes on Gem Store
-reports of players reporting players flood the system
-tool immediately is immediately withdrawn from Gem Store and inventories. Refund is promptly given.
-the gem store dev than read this suggestion is IMMEDIATELY told to report to Mo. A cubicle (and position at work) is now vacant until further notice.

Nah, for some strange reason, I don’t think there would be a situation that ANet would offer this kind of item. There’s just too much at stake.

I’m surprised neither of you guys understood his sarcasm.
He’s complaining about those noisy as kitten tools, such as the ones mentioned and I agree there should be an option to, at the very least, turn the sounds of those tools off.

Not good with satire are you…

What I was really doing was complaining about the visual noise. Hence I used the words “visual noise.” I would have thought “That would be great. Thanks.” would also have been a clue, but I guess these weren’t overt enough.

ANet, could you give us a way to turn off other players’ visual noise – and those kitten ed jack in the box noises? And wings. Players should not be able to grief your ability to see the game by putting huge wings on a Charr. Sure they should be able to have them, but I don’t want to be forced to see them.

Fair enough. Although it’s hard to get the sarcasm when this isn’t a thing that bothers me. I’m used to hearing them and just unconsciously tune the “visual noise” out. But that’s me.

For some people it bothers the hell out of them. And for those people they should have the option to disable tool chatter if they wish.

Guys,

Please don’t post with meaningless titles. It adds no value to the forums.
Please don’t post satire or irony. Neither translates well in text.

Thanks.
