I just found out about the dishonorable debuff for leaving ranked PvP matches early.
why are we not using these in PvE? specifically, parties. everyone has been complaining for 2 years about getting booted from a party just before the boss fight to make room for someone’s friend.
Booting someone mid-instance could add a dishonorable stack (does not apply to open world or WvW parties). when you get 5, you can’t join or start a pug/lfg party (you could still be in a party with only friends and guildies) if the person is offline or not in the instance, it wouldn’t add a stack. won’t completely stop griefing, but it would reduce it.

Bad idea. There are valid reasons to remove people from dungeon/fractal groups other than being offline or not in the instance. We aren’t obligated to play with everyone.

Also, as a community, we should generally be seeking out more positive ways to improve our game experience. We don’t need more nerfs, restrictions or punishment.

Don’t they have something similar in WoW? I read that forum sometimes and read complaints about how someone who gets themselves kicked a few times becomes immune to more kicks and amuses himself by trolling groups.

While your suggestion isn’t the same, if there is a way for someone to find a way to leverage it to troll others, then you can be sure they will.

For example, someone could repeatedly join parties just to force others to kick them, thus giving them the dishonorable buff.

“He’s just afk the whole time and we can’t kick him.”

Yeah I don’t know. Doesn’t sound like a good solution at first glance.

“Whose Kitten is this?” – “It’s a Charr baby.”
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”

These penalties are bad because they are not/can not be implemented properly.

In WoW if you get kicked in BGs or Party through no fault of your own, you have to suck on a penalty you did not deserve to get.

I am sure someone will say “If you got kicked you deserved it” and that just isn’t the case. Just like guilds running content and kicking to replace someone with another guildie. I got kicked once in WoW because the boss we were fighting in a dungeon had a chance to drop an item that only my character and the other caster could use (for transmog), and I was not in their guild. Gone was I, for no reason other than their greed. They could have walked to that instance as a guild and just entered it, but they were lazy and needed to queue for it so they didn’t have to, and I was unlucky enough to get queued with them.

Hey dude you are walking into a wall.

I’m not suggesting the one who gets kicked gets the penalty – I’m saying the person who suggested to kick them and the person who seconded the kick get the penalty.

And it’s 5 for a reason: sometimes there are people who deserve to be kicked, so you are able to kick them. But if you are kicking 5 people in 3 days, 999 times out of 1000, it’s you who is the problem.
Personally, I’ve only ever suggested or seconded about 20 kicks in the almost 2 years I’ve played (thousands of dungeon runs) If you are not the problem, you won’t be getting anywhere near this limit.

As I said above, I can think of an easy way to troll people and force them to either kick me and get the debuff or have me stay and run the dungeon with 4 people. If I can think of something that fast, dedicated trolls can do so too, and probably even more.

So how would your system handle that?

they get 1 debuf. nothing happens to them. they would need 4 more to even notice it. on the 4th and 5th there might even be a warning. could even include a thing where you can’t rejoin a party with that player for x number of days unless they invite you. it would take a LOT of trolls to actually do anything here, as that player would have to be trolled by 4 others within 3 days to have anything happen. If there are even more trolls, this player could just ask the other 2 players in the party to kick the jerk.
I imagine the ban from joining parties once you do get 5 would only apply to the next party, not the current party they are in.

btw: dishonorable has already been in competitive pvp for over a year. you could go troll people there if you want to prove your point.
just like how there are legitimate reasons to leave a pvp game, there are legitimate reasons to kick someone. the point is to punish those who abuse it.

I’d like to see that debuff on everyone who uses the letters “5kap+” or “zerker” in the lfg tool.

I’d like to see a debuff on people who get mad at others who want to play with likeminded individuals (e.g. users of berserker gear).

Then they’ll join the group five times. Or however many times it takes to make themselves immune from being kicked.

see bolded.
also, nothing about this would make someone immune from being kicked. the only possible affect of this would be to prevent the person who is doing the kicking from being in a lfg party for a few days.

Then it really doesn’t solve anything.

They get prohibited from joining one group, they’ll continue to not read and/or they’ll continue to troll other groups that pop up. Solves nothing. The only way to solve the problem, of at least not reading, is to put in something that prohibits certain people from joining if the creator of the group puts it up there. Stops those who can’t read (at least a lot more who don’t read that it currently does) and reduces number of trolls that can get in (they’d have to meet the group requirements to join).
