Do you display your titles?

Given my concern for screen clutter, and since the display of my titles is not optionally viewable by others, I choose to never to display a title. It seems like the responsible thing to do.
I had the same reaction the day that was introduced. Until they add a button in the options to make titles shown optional, I will not show a title.

Nice. A lot of folks made the same choice at that time. Good community here.

“By the way, in an effort to help the community, my guild has turned off all of our titles on all of our characters.* (We will no longer be showing our “achievements”.)
-something to consider"
I have yet to get a title in gw2 that would make me even consider changing from “Champion of the Gods” title i got from gw1
Maybe a high rank pvp title if I ever get, or maybe yakslapper. Idk.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
Nope. The screen’s cluttered enough already with floating text (no bodies due to culling) and overdone sparkly effects that hide the cursor and the mobs so you can’t tell when you’re about to get hit by a missile, etc.
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
I don’t display any titles, I don’t like screen clutter.
Also there is no title for Fabulous
I only display my Dungeon Master title and my Champion Slayer title.
Currently, i’m working on my Champion Illusionist title, which i really, really want for my mesmer.
Shame there is no Fabolous title like the poster above me said , though (Perhaps a good idea for cultural armours? Could be made possible as the half-way mark for the emperor title)
Boon Dispenser. Lv80 Guardian 15/25/0/20/10 Boom Dispenser – Lv80 Engineer 30/30/0/10/0
Chuck Thunderstruck – Lv 80 Ele 30/10/10/10/10
I have lots of titles. I don’t display a single one.
Since they made them permanently visible, it has drastically affected screen clutter for the worse, and the worst offenders are the GWAMMs. It’s the longest title in the game, and there are a lot of them out there.
To quote the great Tyler Durden:
“You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake”.
I really wish they’d change it back to the old behaviour, where you had to actually hover your cursor over someone in order to see their title.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
Nah, titles mean nothing to me. They’re just unneccessary clutter.
I just Love the “Emissary of the Mad King” one!!
I use it always.
For tittles i really prefer something humorous in some way:)
For something a little more serious i use on some chars the “Closer to the Stars”, because i am a huge fan of Factions!
My characters display titles that fit them. My main character is from Canthan descent, and bears ‘Closer to the Stars’. It’s not for vanity or bragging. Then again, few titles are imho and if they were, I wouldn’t wear them for that reason alone.

That doesn’t sound like a great man, but rather a bitter and cynnical one.

I just leave Combat Healer up all the time. I’m hoping it says, “Thief who plays well with others”
No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
That doesn’t sound like a great man, but rather a bitter and cynnical one.
I’m taking it you don’t know what that’s from then?
And really, it says it perfectly.
GWAMM unnecessarily takes up a lot of screen real-estate with a lot of white text, therefore it’s ugly (not beautiful).
And there are thousands of players out there displaying it, therefore it’s common (not unique).
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.

No, I do not know where it’s from. Also, I didn’t meant in this particular case. I just meant that I don’t see the quote as a reason to call the man great: instead I’d find him pitiful.
Sometimes when people want to show of the champion of the whatever I display my gwamm. But it’s usually sanctum sprinter because I like that one.
Watch or read Fight Club.
Either is good, although even the author has admitted that the movie has a better ending.

Wiki suffices. Still, not a great man…probably only half of a man. :-)
I’ve seen Fight Club, haven’t read the book but probably will do one day. I’d say bitter and cynical is a pretty good description of Tyler. It doesn’t mean he’s wrong but seriously this is a man entirely made up of the repressed negative emotions and wild impulses of someone so kitten ed off with everyday life the only way he could eventually cope with it was encouraging people to beat the kitten out of him on a regular basis. (Don’t read if you don’t want the plot twist ruined.)
Anyway, back on topic I usually have a title displayed on my characters. There’s no real logic to it, it’s just whichever one I like most at the time I change it. Recently I’ve been using Distinction in Applied Jumping a lot because I like the way it sounds, I loved SAB (and jumping puzzles in general) and put a lot of time and effort into getting it.
I also like to use ones which sound like they’re related to what I’m doing (if I remember to change it) for example Guild Warrior for Guild Missions or Rift Warden for fighting the Shadow Behemoth. When I’m just exploring the map I like using Traveller.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
My engineer (turret fan) bears the ’Toymaker’s Apprentice’ title. He may get Master Crafter if I get it though.
I always display a title but usually I have no idea which one I’m currently using. I don’t have any show-off titles.
