400 Tailor/400 Weaponsmith
I beat the Game in less than 2 Months.
My earlier post is how I view a lot of folks that play this game. Very Blind and a slave to the negative experience I feel when I play. To cap it off, there is about zero customer service. The only attention you will receive on a regular basis is an infraction. Sympathetic? Empathetic? or maybe uncaring and a little unjust. Sends the wrong message to the playerbase, a playerbase that wants a rewarding system and cares about the players and their in-game and forum experience.
Will this happen? We will see in January/February. The non – trinity game recreation needs an overhaul of sorts on many different levels.
You can still make gold/karma doing those 2 shelter missions in orr with mf gear. They both have many large waves of mobs that everyone downs extremely quickly.
They also give a lot of xp. You can take 50 skill points to make mystic weapons and sell them for 10g ea.
If they are on break you can go farm the nodes that are around there. You can easily get 2/3 harvesting tools for karma from two of the nearby karma vendors. Previous zones have easy access mithril mining picks for karma. The only ones you’ll need to buy with gold are for the ori mining nodes.
Don’t like having to farm? You could always learn to use the TP to make gold. Find items that have low $ orders vs the retail cost and flip them. Just make sure you factor in the 15% TP sales fee.
Craft items that are worth more than their base mats (gw2spidy will tell you which ones for your crafts). But the mats with orders and sell those on the TP to max those profits.
You can then take the gold from doing that and buy whatever you were trying to farm.

49. Magic find and just drops in general (with or without MF gear) seems to have been greatly altered to a minimum. Also, in the most recent patch it was noted that Veterans/Champions should always drop something at least, irregardless of what quality. Is the system working as you intended since the update or are there most definitely problems with it as it stands? Also, if it is ‘working as planned’ why the huge change in drops? Coupled with diminishing rewards it is hard to farm legitly and almost points the player to the Cash Shop instead of relying on self-reliance. Thanks in advance!
So yep you are right this is the question i have been likely dodging the most? The reason being is that it requires investigation. Vet and Champs should give good loot and there are a number of reports on perceived decrease in the frequency of drops. I will be discussing this in depth with the Production and Design team tomorrow and we will hopefully have more info soon
Everyone should know by now, it is to control the Bot population. If you look around, you never ever see bots in this game. GW2 has the Best Bot control of any other MMO I have ever played.
The economy is already pretty solid and always has been. Just make a crafter and sell your wares, you will make a ton of money! Also please ensure you have a full set of MF gear and run dungeons, it is very easy to make money in this game if you do it the right way.

I agree with most of what is said there. The DR is actually punishing real players whereas people using bots are not affected so much. Moreover there seem to be a general ‘buy gems already’ feeling to a lots of the latest changes in the game…
If you look in the stickies up top there is a thread that was started by Stephanie Lopresti (I think) about this issue... "Post data on perceived loot drops" or something like that. There is real data there that has been presented by players to support this as an issue. If you have any facts I would suggest posting there. Not trying to be a jerk I agree with you 100%. I just feel like if we keep putting solid data in there they will have fix it. Thanks!
Well this thread is more to explain why low drop rates are a bad thing. I would be surprised if the devs didn’t know their own drop rates.
They might look at that data and just go "So? It’s for the economy! Working as intended!"
Oh and I should mention that I haven’t noticed any changes. Drop rates have been low since day 1.
Yeah, they want us to grind, grind, grind, grind, grind... It’s just not rewarding to play. The devs want you to spend rl money in the store. Why do you think that they decreased the open world drop rates to the point of oblivion? IT IS ANET WE’RE TALKING ABOUT...

I have found it easy to obtain everything to make my character strong enough to play all of the content in the game. There’s no pressure to buy gems.
I just find that there is not enough incentive to fight the mobs I run into in many parts of the game.
