Feedback Thread: Say goodbye to Armor Repairs?
Why is it still locked? Should have been published at the same time as the account-bound.
What gives?
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.

Last minute edits? Perhaps a sadistic sense of humor making people wait? Maybe an attempt to create suspense? An honest mistake?
I’m on pins and needles here Anet

They did with the Wardrobe and Dye posts, and rune and cir dmg before that.
But ok, I’ll wait until 11:59 PM.

To give people a chance to discuss one at a time? If they’re about fundamentally different things (unlike the wardrobe and dye), then it makes sense to not overload people with information.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
“Removing restrictions”-blogpost still blocked – that irony.

I’m actually wanting to see if the account-bound restriction on the Ascended materials will be lifted so that we can help out our fellow guild member in building their ascended items…so yeah, I was expecting them to be related.

You understand that there’s such a thing like time zones, do you?

I hope its about either removing restrictions on:
a) Conditions; OR
b) Targets per hit (though mainly for world bosses).
Though I suppose it could also be about removing time gating on crafted items.

Yes, and it did work for the “Account-bound” post but not for the “Restriction” post.

Hold your horses.
It’s a bit ironic how the blog is being restricted from us and the blog title is… removing restrictions.
It’s up.

It seems like they are making a point on how annoying restrictions are.
Ok. Point taken. Unlock it already.

Yeah there’s no way, that would be ‘too much’ work for ANet, even though they’ve had fifteen months to do it since they claimed to have a fix. I’m betting its just going over removing the armor/stat/rune/sigil splits between PvP and PvE

I hope it something about more weapons available for each class.
Removing condition restrictions would be amazing. It’s a shame that conditions are at such a disadvantage in so many PvE situations.
its up guys! seriously! check it out.
That was the most disappointing one yet…
That was the most disappointing one yet…
Agreed.
I wouldn’t really call that a feature.
And its hilarious.
No more gold sinks except travel and TP. Screw you champ train. And Zomorros is doing something but we can’t tell you what it actually is…
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Not what I was thinking or hoping for, but here it is…

What restrictions where removed exactly? I’m a bit confused the traits where handeled in a previous blog post, and repairing wasn’t really a restriction

I’m going to go ahead and assume this blog post is an early april’s fool joke… they can’t be serious with this one.
Isn’t the point of April’s Fool to make the joke on April 1st and not earlier or later?
Your armor still breaks, but you won’t have to pay gold to repair it anymore. Why is that a bad thing? I think it’s a great change.

Some of these titles are definitely misleading.
For instance, “The Art of Combat” turned out to be about the sigil and rune changes that we already knew of.
Wish we could get more details on the mystic forge. The armor repair fee being waved is very minor. Yet to run into individuals who were poor due to repair costs.
Evidently the TP is doing a fine job of draining money out of the system.
And champ trains get a swift kick in the shins.
I can live with both.

Not good bye repairs. Just the cost. Your armor will still break.
I was hoping for the removal of the guest limit.
/takes down gold making guide
I like that champ loot bags are having their gold reduced again for balance. Thank goodness we don’t have to pay for those repairs anymore while autoattacking!
But in all seriousness, a nice simple change for qol.

Yeah it’s alright, but when it comes down to it GW2 has a LOT of ridiculous, unnecessary, and unresolved restrictions, and pretty much any one you could think of is more grievous than armor repair costs.

The restriction that allowed you to make gold was nerfed (champ trains)
a thing that was already extensively talked about was restated in the exact same way (the restriction of only getting to read things on one blog post)
and armor repairs were removed because the restriction of having to pay 2s was restricting peoples progress to spent 1000000g on a precursor that they didn’t change the drop rate of…
Why would anyone be outraged at its removal? Gold sink? Try again. Encourages skill? That boat sailed the minute they made this an MMO.
Fascinating…. so WvW really has no opportunity cost anymore for the average zerg player, since the Waypoints are free. I always thought in open world it was a little odd you had to die, pay waypoint, and then pay repair.
Unforunately this take all the risk out of dungeons. Also the effect on the economy…

Agree. Especially if you look at it within the context that, along with removing some of the gold outputs such as repairs, they are reducing some gold inputs. I suspect that there will be some tweaking involved in this since making changes like these can have unintended consequences in the economy. For me, though, I am happy to wait and see how it teases out.
Not exactly what I was expecting….
Didn’t they tell us about the free trait resetting as part of one of the other blogs..?
goes to check
Yeah, free trait resetting – anywhere in the world or pvp as long as you aren’t in combat.
“Refunding traits is now free across the game: refund your traits any time you’re not in combat or in a competitive PvP match!”
“This means that any time you’re out in the world adventuring and want to investigate the possibilities of changing a trait, you can!”
Hmph…
Aside from account bound WXP, the feature patch has been pretty underwhelming thus far.
I mean so many opportunities to remove restrictions in systems that just damage our gameplay without lack of good to the game or its players…
And they remove repair costs that … just make sense to exist.
Asura thing.
I was hoping for the removal of guests in Desolation.
/makes amount of gold decrease significantly

Taking away the risk of spending 11 silver at worst? Wow, that’s so game breaking.
The only people that was punished by that was the new and inexperienced players, as written in the blog post
Dont really see the problem armor repair costs had become a laughable cost for a long time now. I mean i suppose, if you died like 20 times, it would matter, but i dont think anyone cared anymore.
hell i dont mind if they keep it, but it really doesnt matter much.
Why do they have to make a blogposts about this? Another “feature” which is just a quality of life change that would just appear at the end of the patchnotes in other MMOs.
Reducing the gold drop from Champions and Events will not help new and casual players.
What the game needs is a way for new and non-hardcore players to make enough gold to get around in the game and get some of the stuff they want. 90% of the gold I have was made during Queen’s Gauntlet and Scarlet’s first invasions, and it’s really not much still, and I don’t spend much (don’t own a single set of exotic armor).
I’m glad repair costs are being removed, removing waypoint costs would be awesome as well.

Speak for yourself. To me there a more than that to get me excited.
I mean really, shouldn’t Zommoros be giving the armor repair guys a salary? I mean it’s not like Evon is the richest guy out there, sheesh.
Pfft.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
