ok so i’d like to start of by saying some of the new features like preview and the new random unlock are quite nice but i’m moving on to the biggest issue i found with the new chests…. the Guaranteed Holiday loot bag item….. this is just horrible i mean who wants an item slot being taken away for something you can buy cheaply on the trade post and these will just get cheaper due to them being introduced into the chests so we will basically be paying for 2 slots instead of 3 on keys now….. i think this is a little unfair and until fixed won’t be buying any keys.

A single trick or treat bag seems like a mistake. The bags literally drop everywhere like candy.

I feel like it is a mistake, and the next update would replace it with maybe.. a stack of it.

While the guaranteed ToT bag is certainly annoying, what gets me is the “Every chest contains an item that will progress your account in some way”. That means I am almost guaranteed to get another Tome of Experience in every BLC. And I currently have over a thousand of the KITTEN things clogging my bank already. I’d rather get 2 ToT bags than 1 ToT bag and a ToE.

to be honest id rather of kept the booster in slot 1 than the ToT bags at least then u know you are getting something you can use

The changes made the chests so much worse. Who let the seasonal item thing happen? If someone were to tell me that Anet wanted to updated BL Chests, i would expect something more along the lines of “There is now a guaranteed 4th slot that is always a BL ticket scrap” or “instant bank / TP / merchant access items are now removed”

EDIT: Maybe they compensated for the 2 slots by making the rare items drop more often? even then i still feel cheated

To be fair, the ToT bag was the most valuable thing I got in that chest.

More seriously, I think this is more of an implementation and presentation issue. I view it as they replaced a guaranteed booster with a 10% chance of getting a guaranteed unlock.

BL Chests have always dropped a guaranteed ToT bag during Halloween; ANet just never promised that there would always be a seasonal drop. So the fact that ToTs are again a guaranteed drop is hardly surprising.

I think what they should have done is given us four slots:

1. The random BL stuff, with mostly common and some uncommon and really nice super rare things, i.e. the same as it’s always been
2. Same as #1.
3. Guaranteed unlock, with a 10% chance of a guaranteed ‘special’ unlock. (New to this week’s update would be a 90% chance of a junk skin; the 10% chance of a gold-value skin is like we have today.)
4. Guaranteed seasonal item, same as it’s been every Halloween, Wintersday, Lunar New Year

That would be a very unimportant economic change from the current drops, but it would feel better. It would also make it more obvious that it’s the skin unlock that’s replacing the booster, not the seasonal item.

I farm keys once a week, and I purchase them on occasion. I will not be buying keys until this is changed, and I am going to stockpile the keys I get for map exploration and key farming. I don’t see a point in buying keys or using them until they change it. I think it is a rip off.

I was just thinking the same thing about stockpiling any keys I get. I am usually disappointed when I open a BLC, but last night, getting a ToT bag instead of the usual fare left me feeling a different kind of disappointed.

Wardrobe Unlocks are nice but for free accounts Royal Guard Outfit is also included for free players. A reward for accounts created before August 29, 2015. Just a year after HoT was released they do this to veteran players? This was the one thing we got for buying the core game seperatly for 50€? This is the outfit which should say:
“Wear it with pride whenever you want to show that you were there early on, and that you’re someone that new players can go to for help.” Nah, just stick it to BLC. kitten this.

REMOVE achievement rewards from this kittenty Wardrobe Unlock box and also remove Royal Guard Outfit from loot table.
