Feel like a Beta Tester
I wouldn’t call it a downgrade. Sure, it has a few kinks here and there, but hey, that’s common for games to have a few bugs here and there.
1) Maybe you’re going to the map late? I don’t know how the game chooses which map copy you get into when you enter, but I would guess that you go there later than the zerg and as a result are placed in a different map copy when you arrive. That would explain why when you transfer, the boss is dead (because the zerg was there and killed it).
2) A lot of multiplayer games need constant balancing since people will learn to exploit stuff if left with it for too long. Look at WoW and all the changes each class has gone through. Look at DotA from when it was created to DotA 2 and see how many heroes have changed since being added.
3) That’s RNG, so… I dunno how you even got 5-8 Blade Shards when you only get to strike the thing thrice and have a chance to get 1 on each swing.
4) Again, this might be RNG. Most of the low-level world bosses don’t give a set amount of ores (they have a range). Not sure if they changed it (either to a set one or changed the set ones to have a range) at the patch.
5) Could you be more specific? I’ve been playing the game since the patch and aside from the compass being wonky and the slow leveling from 20 to 30, I’ve yet to see much bugs.
Don’t just throw out the term “dumbed down” when you don’t understand what the changes are for.
Well, there are a lot of people here who said they’d do a PTR for free, so maybe this is ANet taking them up on the offer?
- Even after the two years now Anet still can’t seem to balance the different Professions. I don’t like playing half of my characters any more, they just don’t feel the same.
Heh. How long has WoW been out now? Aren’t they still balancing professions? I think the same could be said for every single MMO ever released, ever.
The Feature Patch seems like a down grade, very unhappy.
- Low Population Map, why does the game always put me on a low Pop Map every time, then if I transfer the world boss event I’m trying to do is always ended after the transfer.
- Even after the two years now Anet still can’t seem to balance the different Professions. I don’t like playing half of my characters any more, they just don’t feel the same.
- Less Blade Shards from Home node, use to get 5-8 every, day now half the time I get zero or lucky to get just 1.
- Less Dragonite Ore, even when I manage to do a World Boss, I get less loot and Dragonite Ore than before. Are my characters doing less damage then before?
- Still tons of little glitches, from armor/weapon skins that don’t unlock, Trading Post issues, Event glitches, Salvaged unused items where you end up with account bound stuff, etc, etc, etc. Not to mention that events in the new Living Story Maps don’t even scale.
I feel like a Beta tester after this Feature Patch, this is just unacceptable for a 2 year old game. The whole game just feels like it’s being dumb’ed down and going backwards.
Very true I have also noticed these things they are slowly killing the game, what makes me mad is I love this game and want to play it as much as possible but the more I play it the more I hate it, I have almost 5k hours on this game with 11 level 80’s and have had lots of fun but for an mmo this game is in need of more content and I know people say “Oh but this game isn’t for hardcore players it’s for casuals” yes this game is for casuals but that doesn’t excuse an mmo from not adding actual permanent content, they are making very bad choices they keep nerfing things without putting anything in or without giving us something in return just nerf nerf nerf. Honestly I am sick of it they are nerfing drops and farms which is annoying and they leave us with nothing but the same boring lame dungeons that feel like a chore after doing them almost every day for 2 years. This game needs a revamp, it needs people who are willing to listen to the community and help it grow in a positive way instead of doing the exact opposite and doing what you think is best for everyone.

That’s the thing a LOT of people don’t seem to realize. Every single change to the game, no matter how insignificant, from a new piece of gear with different stats, to a slight chance at when you can learn abilities, actually drastically changes the class balance. Small changes add up to big differences, and considering MMO’s are all about adding new content, it also means there will ALWAYS be class balancing changes.
If you don’t like it, well… stick to single-player games, I guess. :p

The problem with that though is they don’t know how to balance, look at the warrior nerfs for example warriors got a few buffs to mace, sword, and a new arcing slice which it’s damage was decreased before the patch, they also nerfed adrenaline which is almost useless now and lowered damage on greatsword skills and lowered the effect of signet of rage just because. The problem is they don’t give much back when they nerf stuff they just nerf nerf nerf and don’t change stuff that are actually significant.
MMOs will always be endless betas .. or they are more or less death because then they
will get no new content and changes.
Ad nope .. nobody can test all things that may happen in such complex programs, or we will maybe get only small patches every 10 years.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

Holy run-on sentence, man! Learn to pace your thoughts. Take a breath. I can’t even read that, I don’t know how you intend it to be parsed…
