Forays into 4k, this game is beautiful.
During beta there was a way to take screenshots that did this. These HD screenshots looked gorgeous, unfortunately this feature was removed before the game launched.
I may sound stupid but how do you try this out?
I also have a 970 but have no idea how to test this, I am sure I am not alone, care to provide some instructions?
Thanks!
Same – how do we go about setting this up?
I’ve even gone so far as too look into a new monitor that supports this 4k thing. Other than that, I’m in the “what is this sorcery?!” boat as well.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
1. Right click on your desktop and open NVIDIA Control Panel.
2. Select “Manage 3D settings” on the left side under “3D Settings”.
3. In the “Global Settings” tab you will find two DSR options.
DSR – Factors: This enables higher resolutions that will be downsampled to your native resolution. I use 2.00x and 4.00×.
DSR – Smoothness: Blurs the picture in case it might be too sharp. I use 0% but it really depends on the game, some games are unbearable with blur, some look better with a little bit.
Edit:
4. The new resolutions will now show up ingame in the graphics options.
But remember, the UI can become very small depending on how high resolution you pick.

Alternatively , you can try this

That’s an alternative method but I’d recommend to use their official method for doing it, using their new-ish Dynamic Super Resolution feature as I assume it works better or at least as good. Perhaps users of 500-series and earlier could use the method shown in that thread though.

Thank you. Not sure if it has really made a difference to my screenies since I can’t see much difference between the before and after shots I’ve done but thanks for the help.
And thanks also, Thorgal. I’ve bookmarked that thread for just in case.

GeDoSaTo (or Generic Downsampling Tool) created by the dude who made DSFix (Durante), is another way to do this kind of thing.
Until the recent (Omega) drivers, AMD users were unable to downscale, and even now that they can, I prefer to use GeDoSaTo due to its great tweaking and wide array of other features.
I’ve never tried it with GW2, but it seems to work with every DX game. If you want some help setting it up you can PM me.
You use sweetfx? Im not even close to that graphic with 4k.
Sweet but the 970 has a major vram problem above 3.5 gigs, accessing the last 500 causes many problems. Apparently Nvidia is working on it, but they are also allowing and assisting people to return their cards if they can’t fix it, but other articles said they aren’t going to bother.
I have a monster of a gaming rig, and the game looks fantastic in 4k, but the UI is way too small to play. Too bad there is no way to upscale the UI, or I would play the game with these settings all the time.

Did you max out the UI size in the game’s settings?
