I have gotten 12 fractal skins from fotm 20+s including a greatsword for my first fractal 20. I have done somewhere between 1000-500 fractals. After the an update the one where they allowed re-entering for dcing there was a noticeable decrease in fractal skin drops for frequent fractional (dc use to mean fractal fail cause cant re-enter). I was wondering if A-net can comment if they balanced the increase in completions with a decrease in drop rate. This is an observation from a very small sample though and i was wondering if there was any collaboration of this within the community.

People complain they never get them, the reason why is that at 20 and 30 the chance is very low.

At 48 its roughly 25% rate.

Rings hardly drop at 40 but are very common in 20 and 30.

I have every skin minus the staff, hammer and axe.

I have done about 375 fractals between levels 1 and 48.

Got 2 shortbows. Lovely when you don’t play either ranger or thief..

Maybe make them available for tokens that only come from high level fractals.

Definitely make them tradeable.

Fractal Weapons should equal Tormented Weapons.

Relevant to the topic though it’s fairly old…I’ve obtained 200 pristine fractal relics so far. I’ve gotten 8 weapons. 4 of those were in the first 2 weeks of doing it: shortbow, greatsword, warhorn and speargun. In the 3 months since, I’ve gotten the other four and they were further and further between each. Now I’m going on over a month straight of daily 2X/3X on three characters without a single one. I was starting to think there was a limit to how many a single character could get, now I think it’s an account limit. I keep working for that mace but I don’t expect it any time soon.

Its been said before change the random skin drop to a fractal weapon ticket drop that can be exchanged at a vendor for the weapon skin of your choosing. Then you still have your RNG and it would be a million times better.

After 7 round in fractals level 20+ i have gotten 3 weapons.

I really don’t understand ANet’s decision on making Fractal weapon so random and hard to get, the whole thing spells heavy farming…why can’t they do it like other dungeons??

Not everyone was able to farm 50s 60s and 70s before they made them inaccessible I have about 1/3 of the weapons you have and have 4 transmuted but use 1. I’ve gotten 2 hammers, 2 maces, and 2 torches. I don’t use hammer, mace, or torch. Don’t worry though, most of the other ones that 1 have only 1 skin I can’t/don’t use either.

38 and 48 is all I do. Do one or both every day. I haven’t gotten a skin in over a month. In the past week I’ve gotten 1 junk ring and nothing else.

My friend and I did about 30 38-48 fractal dailies before my friend stopped doing them.

In those 30 dailies at 48, I have gotten 3 skins, and one is a repeat. My friend got none.

Fractal 48 is easily a 1.5 hour affair, and if you’re unlucky with pugs even a bit longer. It’s outrageous the time investment of doing that place and coming out emptyhanded or with rings you have since very long ago no longer needed.

218 Fractals before getting bored and stopping. I just did Lv. 30 Dailys.

I’ve found the Scepter and Longbow.

you look at it from a false point of view so many ppl are farming low lvl fractals to get weapons… for what I can say I think you have about a 80-90% chance maybe even 100% chance of getting either a weapon or a infused ring uf you do the fractals on 70 + … every odd fractal I did 70 + every of my group member got either ring or a fractal weapon.. So the chance of getting these increases just wait till 80 is doable again and go do lvl 80 than to get your skins .. you will get so many so you get the skins you want easy.

I wish I enjoyed fractals enough to run it that often. Would be nice to have the sword.

Your post is sort of that post from a guy who got a precursor off a dragon twice (a guildie of mine got Dusk off Temple of Grenth, and then The Legend from Karka event) saying that drop rates actually are good. It means nothing other that you were lucky.

A 25% chance doesn’t change the more times you do it. It’s the gambler’s fallacy. Some will be very lucky, others will not be.

Is your 700 runs 700 jade maws or is it 700 individual fractals (180ish full runs)? I’m guessing its the latter. Fact of the matter is that I think most people who are complaining about no weapons is because they are running 20s and 30s over and over. I have run over 100 (that’s 100 full jademaw runs, mostly with guildies) at 40+ and played with lots of pugs and I find that most people aren’t at the skill level to handle 48 reliably for a fast run.

You run 48 four times a week and you have an extremely high likelihood of getting a skin, but people will not do this because they cannot get a group good enough to make a 48 run efficient. (Here’s a tip: don’t play with rangers, necros and engineers)

I only do 48, when I’m not leveling past 60+….. I don’t need your tips about what classes to play with or what to do — the fractals are simple.

I’d rather just not gamvle over an hour doing something and end up emptyhanded or with a useless ring I no longer need.

The games I like, activities are rewarded consistently, not only a fraction of the time.

I’ve received a Fractal Longbow, Axe and Sword in the last 3 weeks. I run 26+ every couple days or so.
