Guild Wars 2

I am a DH player, and for some weeks of talking with some other guilds I will just try to explain what will happen today. With the free transfers, and the logic that Anet create for free transfers, DH that is not one of the worst bronze servers will loose a lot of players to HoD and CD. Let’s see the logic:

- Lets give free transfers for the 4 last servers of silver and bronze leagues, and this way they can be more competitive

What will happen? Of course that people who are at the best bronze servers will transfer to silver servers!

So, a question come to my mind, why we still have bronze servers at all? Isn’t it the time to shrink the server list, for balance sake?

What are you thoughts guys?

I think we are going to see a mass exodus from servers ranked 16 and down and people flowing into the 13-15 ranked servers. Not only does WvW suck on lower ranked servers, but so does PvE. I’m on EBay and I have to guest to other servers if I want to do Living Story content or world bosses and dragons. Why would anybody transfer to the 20-24 ranked servers even if it is free? More people will be leaving the 20-24 ranked servers than there will be people transferring to them.

Only Tier 7/8 servers should have free transfers. Rest DO NOT NEED IT. I don’t know what they are thinking…

Yeah, this logic is pretty flawed to me too. I don’t know anyone that is currently in a higher tier server that want to go to Kaineng, EB, AR or ET.
But I know lots of people that are going to the higher tiers.
IMHO, just close the lower servers and put people at the higher ones, but just don’t kill it with those transfers.

I agree as well.
(And I’m still disappointed w/ those that abandoned us (DH mostly, but any that abandon their server for higher ones)).
I think it should have been any under 3rd silver (9th server) costs 800, top 3 bronze costs ~400 and any under that are free. As Tolein and Lunchbox stated, there is no incentive to go to bronze league. If you’re going to transfer, even bottom silver is more populated, both pve and wvw, then bronze ones.
Would have been interesting if they gave each player that moved to bronze from gold/silver some of the reward tokens (maybe proportional to the rank difference from original server) as extra incentive to move down (and stay there for the season).
