I hope they add a new champ train to another zone.

What do you mean? Almost every zone has a champ train. It’s always been mystery to me why people chose Queensdale to begin with. It’s definitely not even in the top 10 zones for fun champ trains. In Fields of Ruin you can literally be killing a champ nonstop, it’s only like 20 seconds walk at the longest to go from champ to champ.

Hmm, do tell me more. Oh I guess I can google Fields of Ruin Champ train.

Just curious, from all those who are happy the train is gone – what am I SUPPOSED to be doing? I set my goal for a Legendary, and yeah, it’s supposed to be hard to get. But I’m probably going to take a break now, because not only is the end still out of reach, the means to get it are being taken away. I’m tired of feeling more like a beggar than an earner.

If it’s money you’re after, the train was the worst way to go about it. Do newbie areas, get newbie funds.

I’ve got 5 capped toons, bought three more slots, all three are done with newbie areas. Honestly, of the grindy mcgrind grind way to grind, champ farming was least boring.

So the QD champ train is is no more. Is it still a veteran, event and mentoring event train? How about group event train? If so I’ll still be using it to get those daily/monthly achievements. For champs I’ll probably try the HH.

Last night waiting for the boar there were a couple of fun boxes open. Everyone was dancing, setting off fireworks, costume brawl and just partying in general. Looking back it kind of seems like it was Mardi Gras just before Lent.

Isn’t this supposed to be a ‘sandbox’ game? Why is every other way to play this ‘sandbox’ game met with aggression, suspicion and gratuitous nerfing? I’m starting to feel like I’m doing a LOT of things morally wrong and unscrupulous just by playing the game.

I would postulate that most low level players that you encounter are just alts that will end up buying the traits with stockpiled skill scrolls and gold. That’s what I plan on doing anyway.

I’ve got 7 level 80s and 3 in their 50s with their traits grandfathered in. I don’t plan to start any alts under this new trait system. If anything should have been fixed it is the new trait system.

Yeah it is a ‘sandbox’ game with different rules.

Anet, “Hey don’t build that sand castle over there.”

Player, “Why what’s wrong?”

Anet, “Well that side of the sand isn’t where we want you to play.”

Player, “But I like it over there. I’m enjoying myself.”

Anet, “Sure you are but it is more important for you to play in the sand over here.”

Player, “Why?”

Anet, “Because that is where we need you to play now. We put effort into making an area for you to play over here, not where you are.”

Player, “I don’t care about that area over there. I’m having fun where I am now.”

Anet, “Too bad, we are taking your sand away from your area. Now play over here like we told you.”

Maybe now these people will have to play the game instead. I’m going straight to LA to drink the endlessly flowing tears.

Technically they where playing it, the way they wanted too, the same way TP flippers play there way, maybe they should make it that you can only use the TP 10 times a day MAX, that would be fair right,

I cant wait until next week when we see people on the forums crying that the starter zones are dead again, I don’t know what anet was thinking doing this right as some big games are due to be released, nerf all loot and all farms, just makes people want to quit, and this is coming from someone who never took part in the QD train.

Awwww too bad, maybe now I can have some peace when doing daily in Queensdale. Good work Anet, please add the word “train” to the censor on next update, that’s what is needed now.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

I think this way too.

My 50s aren’t quite ready for FGS yet. When they are I will have to learn what the pattern is. Are there griefers messing with that train too?

I’ve been playing another game recently and have only been logging in each day to GW2 to do dailies. Probably won’t bother for awhile especially since I’ll be on vacation for the next 2 weeks. By the time I’m back home who knows what will be changed with GW2.

With megaservers no zone can ever really be “dead”. I really don’t know how people can’t realise this…

Now to address the part I bolded, simple really:

“This change is being made to ensure new players focus on learning the core game experience”

That was their reasoning and I believe it. While I didn’t personally have anything against people that played the train game it was a toxic thing at times. I also warned months ago that new players coming into the game and seeing the train thing right off the bat could get a bad idea about how the game played in general or was meant to be played. Besides that, seeing “train talk” 99% of the map chat just gets on your nerves after a while, if only there was a way to filter that out somehow…

Really this is a positive thing, honest. Besides it’s not like they removed the events, all they have done was turn them into vets – thus no more champ bags. This is only hitting those players who did it for the cheap/easy loots. Low lvl players could still run the train I guess if they want the exp/easy levelling.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

And how long did that take? I can guarantee making that money faster with other methods.

It’s weird. All these people, tough guys, saying they love to “drink the tears” i.e. are happy other people are upset. Are HAPPY someone is upset. It passes moderation.

I make one joke about Dexter, another about weapon use, and I go “Haha. I meant the cartoon.” and “So when are we going to go paintball?” And THAT is too far.

One sided.

Weird.

I still miss 1990s FMV. Wing Commander 3-4. I’d prefer CYOA interactive movies any day.
