was wondering if gw2 has a history page of such events? like runescape used to have this exciting history of past glory like bluerose rune smithing etc.

Corrupted Blood wasn’t event it was glitch/bug which made wow unplayable for almost one week. People who were responsible for spreding it were perma banned and thier accounts deleted.

During fight with hakkar if your pet got corrupted blood (dot with massive damage) you could call it back and resummon iside towns or capital to spread it and almost instantly kill low level players

Hope it will never happen in gw2 tbh

It may not have been an intentional event but it certainly sounds interesting. If I played WoW I’d definitely have been one of the people who logged in deliberately to see what was happening and maybe try to save people. It also reminds me of some of the weird things that used to happen in Ultima Online. I don’t think there was ever anything on that scale but players used to try some pretty weird things in that game.

Guild Wars 2 hasn’t had anything like that happen but there have been a lot of deliberately created large-scale events. The most significant is probably when Scarlet attacked Lion’s Arch. Even when teasers came out the week before some people didn’t believe they were actually going to destroy the city so it was pretty cool logging in and seeing everyone’s reactions (and being shocked myself at the scale of the devastation).

Some really nice details involved too. At one point shortly after the attack there was a board for ‘missing persons’ notices which you could read through. Most of them were fairly straight forward descriptions of a random NPC (some actually in the game, some not) and then right at the end was one which just said “I can’t find my mummy and daddy”. The kid who wrote it probably didn’t even ever exist in the game but I actually teared up a bit reading that.

I remember there being a zombie infection event in that game and some other stuff. But GW2 does have a page dedicated to actual events (what you stated was just a bug that sort of became a big thing). https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/

Corrupted Blood WAS an event, the part that made the game unplayable was the bug / glitch.
