The thing is GW2’s reward system is total abysmal.
High level Fractals still take much more time to complete than the regular dungeons and yet give worse drops/less gold.

Remember GW1 UW and FoW? These zones were hard and rewarding.

I agree with you. However, do you think the existing content is still too easy, that there’s no incentive to try the hard stuff, or both?

Anything I post is just the opinion of a very vocal minority of 1.

You’re absolutely right. If they wanted to make it an all pvp on all the time sandbox game they could have early on, all of these nasty changes to the open world because people keep saying it’s too easy when they are playing classes like Warrior or Guardian is just laughable.

The reasons why people are playing open world so much isn’t due to any other issues other than the rewards system, we’ve told them about it multiple times and it’s still not improved really.

So long as the people who actually enjoy the grind, go forth and completely dec themselves out in full gear grind ascended and play classes that have had a history of being OP due to favoritism of course the game’s going to be easy.

You made me laugh. Your friends doesn’t really understand about games. How come GW2 is more difficult than WoW? I mean, WoW! (got the joke?)

To start with: you know how complicated are WoW builds? And you also know how easy are GW2 PvE builds? Sadly the “rush power get zerker” is implanted. You realized even some engineers and necromancers are going power?

Honestly, I’ve came from a MMO called DDO that in a raid of 12, if one guy does a mistake, everyone else is dead and they have to restart the whole raid because you can’t revive or get in again (say Ascension Chamber raid, for instance). So that IS a considerable factor to calculate difficulty.

Come on dude. I know GW2 fanboys really want to defend their game, but don’t defend it’s “hardness”, because it isn’t. (I can say that I’m a fanboy too, but I’m flexible, learn to be too)

Edit: sorry for double post, didn’t noticed. :>

My friend played DDO for years & raided. GW2 was still harder.
I hear the “one mistake & you wiped” excuse in every game including WoW. so, no, I don’t buy it. Your other mistake is equating “learning the pattern” to difficulty.

Chewie, you’re off on your numbers. By the damage calculation, with the weapon coefficients, it’s impossible to out-damage other classes on the ranger. (This isn’t counting pet damage, since pets are just broken.)

Taken on their own, the way the game is coded, it simply can’t be done. It’s not a matter of skill, it’s a matter of game mechanics. Ranger weapons/attacks are about 30% weaker than all the other class’s weapons.

No offense taken here – just simple fact.

There is no simple fact here and you’re the one that is off here. You can’t remove pet damage with the sweeping declaration that “pet’s are broken”. Pets are fine and work very well. Yes the damage numbers are lower for the Ranger BECAUSE of the pet. It is that way for balance. Rangers and pets ARE NOT separate and you can’t talk seriously about Ranger damage while completely ignoring their pet. A Ranger’s base damage is lower because their pet is a semi-passive source of damage. You’re not just playing a Ranger. You ARE playing a Ranger/Pet…they are one in the same and not separate like people try to make them out to be. EVERY player that plays Ranger well ALSO plays Pet well. There’s no way around the fact that the pet is part of the Ranger. In conclusion, YES, Ranger/Pet is one of the highest DPs professions of the bunch and, strangely enough, has some incredible, innate survivability as well. It may be a bit more complex mathematically but it is Ranger/Pet DPs so removing a key component of that is only gonna give false results/conclusions. Ranger/Pet’s even make my point clearer by “I make a pretty good team!”. That’s not supposed to be taken as humor/arrogance but as a pun on the truth of the Ranger/Pet duality. I hope this makes sense and can lead to some new calculations on the ‘DPs ladder’, though it’s hard to work out b/c the pet can’t be made to only auto attack.

WvW and high level fractals are as close to end game as you’ll get. And considering this game is subscription free I don’t mind it being the way it is difficulty wise since I play this game to have an enjoyable time with friends and guild mates without the rushed feel you get from other MMO’s to keep up with current.

Oh for crying out loud… The game is probably one of the most difficult MMOs out there.

You should go try The Secret World, then. Makes every game you listed PLUS this one look like it’s meant to be played by four year old down’s syndrome children.

Never tried it myself but the reviews I say would endless going on about the level of depth and realism is so strong you actually have to do research into the legends and pay attention to even know what to do. I can only imagine how hard it is.

Should Anet have kept to their GW1 fan base and stuck with the Manifesto? I think yes.

Oh god, not the manifesto thing again. You need to check out this discussion; skip to page 6ish:

The hardest part of TSW was understanding the UI. I didn’t get that far in it, but I certainly had a much harder time living as a thief in the early game than I had in TSW.

Games (especially the world content) are going to be easy as a lot of them are designed for players that are 12+ in age.
