So today I received Dusk from a noxious pod in DS. It took me a long time to get full asc gear and I have no desire, after checking recipes, to craft a legendary. I am broke enough that I cannot even afford to post the item on TP. However a few people I know may be interested in purchasing my Dusk.

So my question is if they choose to purchase they would obviously have to send me the gold? Is trading like this allowed for such higher priced items?

It is allowed, though you can only receive 500 Gold per week.

Do be aware, should anything go amiss, you will not be able to reclaim your lost items or Gold.

It’s allowed but not supported. Which means if you get cheated – if they promise to send the money as soon as you send Dusk and then it never appears Anet will not help you. So I strongly recommend you only sell it to someone you trust, ideally someone who would suffer consequences if they cheat you (e.g. a real life friend or a committed guild member who wouldn’t want to risk being kicked).

Also be aware there’s a limit of 500g per week that can be withdrawn from mail. If you sell it for more than that you’ll have to wait to get the rest of the money.

Finally I recommend you save records of all discussions on the transaction (e.g. screenshots of conversations, emails, save the mail they send which should include a note to say what the money is for). That way in the unlikely event one or both of you is flagged as a gold seller you’ll have a way to prove that’s not what was happening.

Well thanks for the answers. I may just take the 100g hit and sell when I get enough gold to post it lol. I spent it all on mats I didn’t have to get my asc gear >:
