Guild Wars 2 Breaks 2 Million Sales
Great! I bought the game two days ago now, and so far, the praise for the game has been well deserved. I’m happy the game is doing so well.
Just wanted to say Anet..
A big well done for the sales numbers and a fantastic game!
Edit : Thanks to the moderator for merging! Didn’t see this thread!

You mean we haven’t bought 5 million yet?
For shame, everybody. For shame…
Grats to Arenanet, very well deserved.
Indeed! Very well executed ArenaNet
I raise my glass to you mate, Cheers
Congrats! Definitely deserve it! ^_^
Congrats! I’m glad to see your hard work pay off.
Since the first beta weekend, I’ve been bending the ears of the gamers I work with about GW2 and how much fun it is (probably to the point of being annoying). One of them finally broke down and bought a copy of the game for himself and a friend and I got a call the next day (I’m home sick) confirming that yes, I was right, the Arena Net folks fixed almost all of the things that made us stop playing MMOs.
Both of them have worked in the game industry, and I thought I’d pass along that they noticed and appreciated the quality and the attention to detail. They are having a blast and haven’t even done any PvP yet. One of the highlights for them was being able to jump in to an event and all the sudden be part of a group.
I could go on and on, but I think I’ve hit my annoying fan chatter quota for this week.
He might start thinking he knows what’s right for you.

Wow, congrats ArenaNet. Definitely the MMO many of us have been waiting for and wishing others were, so hopefully that number just continues to rise.

Grats to Anet! 2 mil in sales is VERY well deserved and I can definitely see this continue to rise as more people realize how great a game this is.
I will admit, I was one of those people who insisted I’d never play this game- then I started reading about it and I don’t think I’ll ever leave. (Slight addiction over here)
Well done A/net, been here since pre-launch and loving every minute of playing !
You’ll certainly be getting my future support via FB, Twitter, word of mouth if you keep things up to this standard !
:))
Money can’t buy happiness, But it allows you to search in more places to find it !
Good for them. It’s a great game, I’m having a total blast with it.

Great job, this is again the best mmo ive played since gw1,and in between ive played dozens of others but none can compare to guild wars.
Sweet, the game is selling even better then I expected.
Well deserved success by ArenaNet. Even this is just the first, launch pack, game is awesome in many ways. I wonder what it will be like with the first expansion pack.
Congratulations ArenaNet!
Completely justified. Awesome work, guys!
Congratulations! That’s awesome!
I’m on my iPad right now so I didn’t want to click on an external link. Is the 2 million retail and digital combined?
100% well deserved, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that number just keeps on going. By far this is one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I have ever had. Everything in this game is so well thought out and I am totally enjoying myself! Thanks ANET!

I anticipate that graph looking something like the profile of a pregnant woman. An initial bump (boobies) of players at launch, a decrease as the early adopters wash out, followed by a more traditional bell curve of the games life cycle.
Time will tell of course, but anecdotally speaking this game has delivered at a level miles above anything else to launch in the last few years.
WOOT!!! Grats ANET!
It is definately deserved, its a good game. Im sure the sales will increase as the good rating s from mainstream review sites keep pouring in.
Congrats! Lots more to come.

Well dang, I shouldn’t have uninstalled XFire I guess then. Sorry, I just didn’t want it running in the background when it really didn’t have anything to offer me.
I accept the blame.

If Xfire can be used as proof of GW2’s decline, it can by extension be used as proof that more people play GW2 than WoW?
Edit: Hint – the graph indicates how many hours people are playing on average. 4 hours a night is a pace I can’t maintain, but it will settle between 1 and 3 over time.

Sure but that won’t be the case with MOP launching and TOR going F2P mixed in with good old fashion father time.
GW2 (unless you’re a completionist) has very little end-game and by the time I got to 80 I was already burned out with nothing to currently look forward too. I really miss the carrot on a stick even as someone who spouted that he was tired of the whole thing.

Wow, how did you get your legendaries so quickly? That’s amazing!
My wager is that Snaylor hasnt complete even half of the things in this list…
Guide to End game
There is still a “carrot on a stick” so to speak. But there are multiple carrots and multiple sticks. That’s where people are getting screwed up. They genuinely have no idea what to do when they have options. Without being directly told what to do, they can’t find anything to do. /shrug c’est la vie.
On topic…Well done Arenanet. We have an over/under pool going at work for how long it will be until over 3 million is announced.
Dragonbrand
Grats Arenanet, this is truly a awesome game. Let us not forgot, even though the game flopped, SWTOR sold 2 million well before it ever went live. Just saying :P

’Nuff said. Bravo!

@Snaylor: Try not playing 24/7? Just an idea. I think any game would burn you out after nonstop playing without sleep.

Xfire still exists?
Man, I haven’t seen that kitten since like Battlefield 2142.
Anyway, it’s nice to put down cash on a game and know I don’t have to play it constantly to get my money’s worth.
I’m giving pretty equal time to GW2 and Mechwarrior Online.
Congrats! <3
Too bad it probably cost them $300 million to make over the last 8 years.
