I do like them, a lot. I spent lots of time in the character creation screen, customizing their faces. I have all the classes and all the races. At some point I decided to update the looks of my female mesmer norn, because she was looking very childish, so I change it a more mature one. She is gorgeous now!

All my characters are asura. My main is ranger with 1900 hours played on her. I have Dreamer legendary, also use T3 cultural and coloured to match the bow. Had used pink quaggan backpiece on her since they same out but switched to one of those wind thingies, still unsure about that. Coloured her hair and eyes to that new purplish/pink colour to match my bow and outfit. So apart from maybe backpiece theres nothing i will change.
Got a new pc this week and can finally play everything maxed out, i didnt realise how stunning these characters were and the world they run around in, simply wonderful thankyou

Overal, I’m very happy with my characters. The only one I don’t really like is my Norn mesmer. He’s male and somehow all male Norns must be bulking hulks… I don’t mind him being muscular, I do not like the neck muscles… But I do love his name and his name defines the race and the gender, so he’ll stay. I’ll just not use him as much.

And maybe, when he gets older, I’ll get a few armour skins on him that look good.

I wasn’t suggesting u delete any of ur chars, goodness no, i never do that lol, well it depends what lvl they are. I was merely thinking if u have a spare char slot as i did, or intend to get one then do that process b4 u lvl ur new char.

And just to show you my ele’s eye, here’s a pic, it’s very reminiscent of gw1 ele’s eye and that’s why i wanted it. Only gw1 was even better as it had the relevant elemental aura (ie: red for fire, blue for water etc) circling the head.

I’ve filled all my character slots, one for each profession. I’m not planning on buying 800 gems to get another one. Once again it just isn’t worth that much effort for a skin when ANet can eventually fix it.

Again thanks for the replies. This issue is concluded.

Elona, Land of the Golden Sun….and undead…and poison. The travel brochure lied okay?!

Of the four characters I have, I am happy with all four. Two Charr (One is my main), one Norn, and an Asura. My first character I’ve always stuck with, but when I started making other characters, I went through at least three races/appearances with varying professions. Nothing was ever really wrong with them, but it was just something that kept me from wanting to play as those characters anymore, so I kept deleting them. Eventually I figured I’d try making a character based on the look, style, and personality of a character from another series I was into and I liked it. After making my other few characters, I realized that all the characters I ended up being happy with were all based on characters from other games, books, or TV shows. So, for now, I’m happy with what I’ve got, though leveling is a pain considering I refuse to boost.

My main is sylvari thief. I like his look, I spent painstaking hours tweaking him before launch. I think I am satisfied with him. As for others…not sure. I do not like my Norn Guardian. I think Id rather have another sylvari or Human. I kind of like my human necro…I ehhh kind of like my human warrior. I like my sylvari mesmer, although the run of the mill asura mesmer would have been nice too.

I have all 8 professions at 80 and am happy with them so far. In the process I had to re-make my sylvari mesmer about twice before she made it out of her teens, but I like her as she is now.

My engineer started as male human, since I like some of the medium armors for them, but he got deleted at 16 as I couldn’t stand the running animation anymore. Plus the engineer backpack messes up any good looking armor, so he was re-made as asura. Being that tiny, armor and backpack don’t matter as much, as you can’t easily make out details anyhow. And asura and flamethrowers are simply a love affair.

My ranger was asura too initially, until I saw a screenshot of a great looking norn character and had to have that face as a ranger. My norn ranger is now kitted out in a mix of T3, gem shop armor and other bits and pieces and looks great. I enjoy sniping people with her in wvw.

Now the ex-asura ranger was turned into a male human guardian (my 2nd guardian), and wearing heavy armor his running animation finally fits and doesn’t bother me anymore. Plus he can be full dps, as my main guardian simply has to be as tanky as possible – I like playing tanks. Still trying to figure out the final armor for the male guardian, it will be mix and match as almost all of my characters are. That is one of the best parts of this game really – being able to pick skins and dyes you like and mix them up.

I’m kind of in an odd place with my characters. I like the characters in terms of appearance and class, but I am almost eternally dissatisfied with their build. I always want to try out something new. The more I play a character the more I want to tinker with it.

Anything I post is just the opinion of a very vocal minority of 1.

And go for it. Once I am done map completion on my Thief, which will be this weekend, one of my focuses will be finding a new love..I have 5 80s…maybe muck with some other classes and less-popular builds. There was a thread around here about berserker builds being all thats needed. We are probably nearing that scenario, unfortunately. But I would not let that stop me from building a complete support guardian or something.

I’m very happy with my characters… now. I invested a lot of time and resources into my Norn guardian to never be 100% satisfied, and I kept thinking that “If I get this armor set, maybe she will look right.” But it never happened. I finally said hell with it and rolled a new race, salvaged most everything off my Norn, and have no regrets (except maybe about her 3 ascended pieces). Once I get all the resources off my Norn (skillpoints, etc.) I will most likely delete her.

For anyone who is not happy with their race and aesthetics in an aesthetically-based game, just re-roll. You’ll be happier in the end, even if the character is 80 with t3.

For the most part, I love my main: female asura engineer. She’s got great animations, and the hobosacks look best on the asura. Happy with her name more than any other toon I have. By far the best profession.

Only thing I dislike is that, while I do look awesome in my gear, I get envious at times at other races ability to show off bigger weapons and more armor. I wish I could ocassionally make her human for a day just to have a sexy look, and then back to asura.

I’m generally happy with my alts; as much as one can be with unfinished, unleveled characters. Some of them could use better names I think. And I wish my ranger were human rather than sylvari. I fell in love with sylvari at launch and have come to realize that there’s just something about them that makes me wish they were almost any other race.

My guard is human male cuz I like the way they look in end-game armor. And my warrior is female norn cuz I wanted a strong female character in heavy armor. My only regret is that I don’t have a male norn with a full beard, but they just seemed so cliche at launch to have. Now the only profession I don’t have is thief & I can’t see him being a giant norn. Almost wish I could make my ranger the big norn but she’s lvl 70 and I’m not rerolling.
