Healing.... It might need some tuning...
the healing stat should govern outgoing heals, not incoming heals. its just silly how it works now.
but governing outgoing heals is what it does now …
What if we increase outgoing heal like in the ventari GM trait? That way healing would be more useful without making yourself more tanky.
Haven’t been following revenant stuff but I am guessing that is like the ele gm trait, sigil of benevolence and the WvW medic buff.

it needs a revamped. why use Cleric gear if healing is a useless stat? thats a waste of crafting honestly.
ANet doesn’t like diminishing returns. It’s not a bad thing really.
Also, Healing power already give you insane survivability : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6DKZ45a0VU
This has more to do with an almost permanent -33% dmg than anything to do with healing power.
The stat really needs a revamp and it has a nice counter built solidly into the games engine that is widely accessible in poison. I feel it is also crippled a lot by the range on some healing abilities. Just look over the engineer inventions(support) line, 240 rng. You practically have to be standing on top of them for it to be useful.

The only way to make this stat worth using is to buf it beyond the ability to balance. You’re never gonna ake healing power unless it gives you the ability to survive any expected level of incoming damage.
Seriously, just get rid of it.
Why is everybody obsessed with healing power now? Imho, I say just scrap it all off.
I can only think of certain encounters (in pve anyways) which require constant healing. Mai Trin for example. You can tank her in 50 with water fields and a couple of blasts even while wearing zerkers.
For healing power to be viable, ALL future encounters will have a mechanic that is similar to that and I guess it will be pretty much a battle of attrition for you to take healing gears.
Not to mention, not all class have efficient healing ability to support groups. I for one do not want all future LFGs to be:
Need ele! Need guard! Need xx

if I throw a ‘heal’ – regardless of my healing stat it will effect a target with more healing power then a target with less. To put it another way, if a warrior in full zerk with vigorous shouts uses a FGJ!, a player in clerics will heal more then a player in zerk gear, the warrior and the zerk will heal equally. – Therefore healing power governs the amount of heal you receive, not the heal you throw.
the heal amount in the tooltip is the amount of healing you receive, not the amount you give to someone else.
Healing is awfully broke! this shouldn’t even be a question at this point.
I remember GW healing regen that could buff characters crazily, insta full heals (almost at least) and many other great buffs. GW didn’t have a stat system the same way, nonetheless powerful heals or high defence and so on, and players still killed players, monsters still killed players.Healing revamp is needed, sorely so!
On the other hand, GW1’s healing system allowed things like 55 monks to exist, and I think Anet is rightfully afraid of creating another such monster.
We are a long way from 55 monks
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

How did you test this? Just checked in game and it heals others for what it says on the tooltip. I heal myself for more because of the 7% medic buff from WvW.

Uh, yeah. >_> Easiest way for me to test this for me is to just run Soothing Mist while in a dungeon with my guild. They all heal the same amount per tick.
Thanks for the screenshot, Khisanth.
