The flamekissed armor for medium and heavy are still in the gem shop. They clearly resemble pre-existing armor as well.

They need to be redone as well. Hell I can get invaders armor skin and dye it red and orange for my medium armor.

Please take them out and do a better job.

That was one issue. Another was/is that they were just reskinning instead of creating new skins.

I think the medium shoulders look amazing – they match the hellfire gauntlets and destroyer weapons perfectly if the shoulders are dyed ‘abyss’ or ‘iron’, depending on your taste.

All pieces of the heavy armour are quite fugly in my opinion though. I think they should be a whole new design, rather than a re-skin of current armour. I’m not sure whether the medium armour is also a re-skin of current armour, but all I know is that the shoulders are the only good looking piece I like out of the medium set :-P

So for pple who bought the human light T3 armor, did they get to keep it or did Anet took it off from them too and if so did they get a refund?

Wish they were all completely new armors.

cosigning the sentiment that if the light goes, they all need to be taken into consideration

I’d hate to settle for spending 800 gems on tacky flame covered versions of armor I can get with 5-10 gold or a pocket full of karma. Fancy fire or not, those particular armor sets are not only pre-existing, they’re nothing special

They keep it, but it will change to the new reskin once it is live. If they don’t like the reskin they can have it refunded. Assuming you are talking about the flamekissed version.

At least with reskinning, if you don’t like them you don’t buy them. Cultural armor is a huge goal for large portion of the player base, and cheapening this accomplishment/goal is what was wrong.

Absolutely, I agree. I was just pointing out that people were raising various issues and not just the one.

Yep. But the deal breaking issue for many was that the T3 armor was made non exclusive and thus a portion of the player base was unfairly singled out to have their accomplishments diminished. The other meshes were already available to all cultures. If all T3 light armor had been made available we would not be here. (although there would be even more rage over that as then a percentage of all cultures would be miffed I reckon) Still the reaction was so predictable that I wonder how it ever managed to go live. I mean the second I saw it I thought “Awww man this is going to be a train wreck”

The flaming clothes in the Catching Fire trailer were cool and all but at some point an art director or producer should have stepped in and at least say “Hey you can’t use prestige culture locked meshes for gem store re skins. That would be bad. Mkay?”

If you don’t like the heavy/medium because they’re re-skins, don’t buy them…

The problem with that is that it paints ArenaNet as lazy and that we are perfectly okay with lazy designed armor with Flamewalker and Flamewrath.

We’re okay because we don’t need to buy them and don’t affect our accomplishments in any way. Not many will buy these, so laziness is not rewarded

If they are lazy they could have not put it up in the first place. They put those up because they think some people might like them in the alternate look.
